Guest guest
We have received our results from Diagnos-Tech, Inc for the stool culture we did for our son. This is what the results say: - No Yeast Isolation - No ova or Parasites seen - Bacteria - Moderate mixed gram negative rods/flora - Moderate mixed gram positive rods/flora - Pathogens/Bacterial Overgrowth Detected - Staphylococuss spp. Moderate - Staphylococcus aureus - Abundant - Klebsiella/Enterbacteria/Serratia Group - Abundant - Enterocococcus species - abundant - Alpha hemolytic Streptococcus - abundant - Klebsiella Pneumoniae - abundant - C.Difficile - Negative - Giardia Antigen - Negative - Total Intestinal SIgA - 39 (Normal is 400-800) - Intestinal lysozyme - 9 (Normail <6) - Alpa Anti-Chymotrypsin < 25 - Chymotrypsin < 3 (Normal > 9) So the plan our new DAN doctor came up with was to add the follow supplements. She wants us to slowly increase to the following doses one at a time: 1) kirkmans hypoallergenic - L-Gultamine 2 capsules 2x/day 2) Cod Liver Oil 1/2 tsp 2x/day ---(Is there a brand without soy?) 3) Kirkman multi-flora spectrum 1 capsule 2x 4) Kirkmans Multi-enzyme formula 1 capsule per meal. So what do you think about this? We have already had one bad result when our Previous DAN! Doctor gave us probiotics which were cultured on dairy and my son had hives. I wanted any opinions with these results and the short term plan. Thanks for any insight, Aqil ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: crashvt <aqil.mansuri@...> Date: Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 4:17 PM Subject: New to Group Hello Everyone, I have been reading up the last couple of days on all the valuable info in this group. My son is 2 1/2 years old and has a condition called eosinphillic esophagitis and severe food allergies and can only tolerate 4 foods(pears, squash, rice and olive oil) and drinks a hypoallergic formula (vanilla elecare). He also has some quirky beahviors(poor eye contact, hyperactive, repeats things multiple times). He has had these issues pretty much since the 3 months of age. I am pretty new to all this, but just looking at alternatives to help him grow. I have read a lot interesting info here about metals, yeast and parasites. We recently went to a DAN dr here in northern VA. The DAN dr didn't do any test except for the muscle testing. She put him on pleo fort, similase jr, and metagenic df probiotic. He has been doing ok with the pleo fort, similase jr(a little reflux). We started the probiotic and he seemed to be doing ok and he we noticed a single hive on his face. Could that be due the " die-off " or a reaction to the probiotic? The probiotic is cultured on soy and diary which he has an ige allergy to both. We have seen a hive before from another probiotic in past which was not cultured on dairy. We got scared at that time and stopped. Also, Are there any recommended books to learn more about all this information? Thanks for any insight! Aqil
