The most common symptom of vitamin A toxicity is an itchy dry red skin rash. On

my son, it looked like a piece of sandpaper was glued to the skin. It usually

starts around the neck, but for my son it started on the tops of his thighs.

Re: Vitamin a and d and skin rashes???

Not to my knowledge. High-dose vitamin A can cause dry lips and dry nasal

passages, but that's the only connection I see.

Are you concerned about A and D deficiency or A and D toxicity? Our GP runs

these tests for free - completely covered under general health care.

Itchy skin rashes are a form of early eczema, which is a sign of inflammatory

imbalance. It can be triggered by foods. My son would tear himself raw for over

a year until we started epsom salt baths. He now only gets a flare-up when his

immune system is taxed by a cold or flu.
