Guest guest
whenever my son drinks spring water he seems to get all sorts of skin reactions. They are almost " yeasty " in nature. Itchy head, contact rashes if anything touches his skin, and blotchy. He is complaining that his skin is burny and hot, but it seems fine to me when I touch it. He doesn't want to keep his clothes on, because he says they are making him too hot. His ears are itchy too, and he is complaing about a high pitched sound in his ears that won't go away. Could spring water be high in minerals or something that would promote yeast? What in the water could possibly do this? It is poland spring water, and I checked their website and the mineral content is fairly low. Could there be a fungus or yeast in the water? The PH of the water is 6.4. Is that too acidic? paula

All of those symptoms meant yeast here. > Could spring water be high in minerals or something that would promote yeast? It definitely sounds like it to me. Guest guest
Wow I never would have made the connection between Spring water and yeast! We have the same issue. I had looked into Distilled water instead, but heard that it's not good to drink as your regular water. Apparently since it doesn't have minerals, it can draw minerals out of the body. Does anyone know about this? Daisy
Guest guest
Does this happen with spring water from all types of bottles, including glass? If it only occurs with plastic spring water bottles, you may try to determine if your son has a sensitivity to phthalates (plastic chemicals that can disrupt the endocrine system). > > whenever my son drinks spring water he seems to get all sorts of skin reactions. Guest guest
The vast majority of " spring water " is filtered tap water. Filtering your own water is just as good if not better (because it's not bottled in plastic). Mineral water is BEST for drinking, but expensive for cooking. We compromise and drink mineral water and cook with filtered water. > > > Wow I never would have made the connection between Spring water and yeast! We have the same issue. Guest guest
That was true several years ago, but they passed a law making the companies print where the source of the spring water is located. I was just in our water section a few days ago and there was only a few spring waters. You should be able to pick up a bottle and see exactly where they get it from. Guest guest
Well the tap water in my area is spring water. They get the water from Coldwater Spring just outside of town. They ship it out all over the country as bottled water and also use it for our local tap water supply. -Undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome Stay at home mom to 3, Wife to -6-6-02-Autism Spectrum, the light of my life Katy-11-19-03-undiagnosed genetic syndrome that includes cleft palate-Pierre Robin Sequence, scoliosis, heart defects, short stature, low muscle tone, developmental delay, oral defensiveness, g tube fed part time-working on oral feeding, slightly dysmorphic features, and my joy J.D-no issues except he is totally in love with mommy, cutest baby in the world visit my blog http://busiestmommyinamerica.blogspot.com " If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart! Guest guest
Unfortunately it's still the case that most bottled water sold as " spring water " is still filtered tap water, even when they properly list the source in the small print. > > That was true several years ago, but they passed a law making the companies > print where the source of the spring water is located. Guest guest
Can you tell me where this information is found, because everything that I read says that there are uniformity laws in packaging and they are not allowed to do this. I only buy spring water and I would like to know if there is evidence behind that. There are now only a few spring waters in our store, because of the rules. Arrowhead is the brand that I buy. I always check the label to see the source of the spring. I have read that Coca-Cola admitted it was just tap water, but it never stated that it was spring water just that it was pure water. Honestly I believe that anyone that has ever tasted Dasani could tell it was not spring water. I love water, but will not drink that stuff, because of the taste. Please let me know if you have specific companies that are labeling that way. I will avoid them.
