Hello all,

My name is Anani and I joined the group a while back, but had to stop

digests for awhile in order to let everything I was

reading/researching seep in. My oldest son is 4 yrs (ASD/SPD) and my

youngest is almost 3 yrs (SPD). My oldest has digestive issues and my

youngest has just started to have some very recently. I have had

digestive and allergy problems ALL my life, as well as my mom.

I have read the files section and have just finished reading " Enzymes

for Autism and other neuro conditions " . Both boys have been to an

allergist and have had skin tests showing no " true " allergy to foods.

My oldest has gone to a GI specialist with a background in Autism.

Xray showed moderate backup and my son was put on MiraLax. He will

have an endoscopy/biopsy next week. I also joined a research study

with a local university that paid for a Comprehensive Stool Analysis.

Just received the results.

The following were in abnormal ranges/in parentheses notes from

researchers:

Lactobacillus 0+ (absent)

Carbohydrates INT (suggests problem digesting carbs)

Lysozyme 1150 and Lactoferrin 20.2 (much higher than ref.range-

suggests major gastrointestinal inflammation-recommend see physician

ASAP)

sIgA 712 (again much higher than ref. range- suggests upregulated

immune response)

Butyrate 53%/6.8mg/mL (abnormal)

pH 5.6 (too acidic)

yeast- few (some yeast observed microscopically- not isolated in

yeast culture, though)

I would like to start enzymes after the endoscopy, or start ordering

now. I had planned on trying Trienza to start, since it is broad. The

stool analysis shows problems in carbs, but no meat or veg fibers---

BUT he eats very little to no meat/vegs so I assume that could be the

reason as well. Although it is not clear from these results, I was

thinking of doing something for yeast. Probiotics for sure. Someone

posted (either here or SPD site) about NOW brand Candida Clear. I had

originally purchased GSE, but want to stay away from phenols as well.

So, with this info, does Trienza, probiotics and Candida Clear sound

like a good start?

Since I have similar issues, I planned on doing the same three

supplements for myself as well. As for my younger son, I'm not sure

on the yeast, although he has just begun to complain of upset stomach

and gas. He doesn't chew his food much at all, so I figured Trienza

should be okay and probiotics should be okay for everyone, right?

Please send me any feedback. Because of financial issues, and because

my husband isn't totally on the same page, I need to make the best

decision possible before ordering.

Thanks!
