And our one neurologist recommended polarized sunglasses to wear in the

stores that bother her, due the fact that children with

neurotransmitter issues can see every flash of the flourescent

lighting. up to 88 per second..... Has anyone else dealt with this, or

any suggestions.

I have asperger's and hypothyroid. I can see the blinking and hear the high

pitched squeal of these lights and it makes me very edgy. It is like looking at

a strobe light while listening to fingernails on a chalkboard. It is much worse

when I have not stuck to my gfcfsf diet or if I have a lot of artificials.

HI Again,

I told the group about 3 weeks ago about the miraculous change my daughter has

experience since her treatment for a positive pyroluria test, treating her with

zinc.B6 combo with niacin(b3) and how I have this different child overnight.

WEll she is still going strong, and is doing great, many of her tics, screaming

with every word, running all over the place, total defiance, insomnia,

destruction, most of it is gone, totally gone. She is helping with chores,

riding and singing in the car, having nice conversations with family and other

children--it truly is wonderful, and that is why I shared it in hopes the books

we recomended would help some.

We only have 1 issue left mainly, when we go in certain stores, we feel it is

the flourescent lighting, but only certain stores or doctor offices she goes

bonkers---- pulling out her hair, hitting or spitting at me, total dangerous

situation. But as soon as we leave the store, within 10 minutes, she is back to

a wonderful calm child. Now before we started all the B6/zinc b3, she was always

wild, horrible in fact.

And our one neurologist recommended polarized sunglasses to wear in the stores

that bother her, due the fact that children with neurotransmitter issues can see

every flash of the flourescent lighting. up to 88 per second..... Has anyone

else dealt iwth this, or any suggestions.

Hi,

Bit late answering messages. It is not only the switching that occurs with

fluoro lights, some children who have auditory processing problems can also

here it, and the other problem is the lux of the lights.

Hoodies and sunglasses help. Also, if she can be tested for scotopic problems

then Irlen lenses can assist.

I would also suggest that behavioural optometry using prisms would also assist

as well as an ASD specific sensory profile.

Regards,
