Guest guest
I will have the opportunity to go to a public meeting today to discuss health care reform with my legislator. I have prepared some questions that I will ask if given the opportunity, if not I will e-mail them to my legislator after the meeting. Here are my questions: 1. What are the implications of the proposed legislation for those who seek out alternative and complementary medicine to treat conditions that are not very well understood by mainstream medical professionals such as auto immune disease and autism? 2. Are community and home based services for adults and children with disabilities who wish to live in their own homes as opposed to institutional settings addressed in this legislation? 3. I have read in the bill about standards of care being analyzed and “unnecessary treatments being eliminatedâ€. My problem with this is that my daughter is very medically complicated and often the standard of care does not work for her, I worry that this would limit our choices for her care. Are there any safe guards in place to protect people who do not fit the definition of standard practice? -Undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome Stay at home mom to 3, Wife to -6-6-02-Autism Spectrum, the light of my life Katy-11-19-03-undiagnosed genetic syndrome that includes cleft palate-Pierre Robin Sequence, scoliosis, heart defects, short stature, low muscle tone, developmental delay, oral defensiveness, g tube fed part time-working on oral feeding, slightly dysmorphic features, and my joy J.D-no issues except he is totally in love with mommy, cutest baby in the world visit my blog http://busiestmommyinamerica.blogspot..com " If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart!
