We are very thankfully just entering a managed recovery phase with our son. We

started AFP Peptizyde about three weeks or so ago, and have had some neat

results. has gained four pounds (he had lost three in the last nine months

since starting GFCF, and is delighted to be able to have some of his favorites

back.

We have had some continued hyperactivity (manageable, but he constantly is

climbing like a little spider up the door frames), and we haven't been able to

go hog wild on the GFCF (casein seems to be way less of an issue than gluten).

We're OK unless we do something really gluten heavy, like pizza, pasta, etc.

But the yeast is coming back (red ring is the telltale sign for him, also

impulsivity (walking up to sisters and smacking them), the hyperactivity, etc.

I'm wondering if now, because he is absorbing food better, that we should start

cutting down on other supps. Have other noticed this? Have you just cut down on

dosage (doing every other day instead of every day) or cut them out completely?

We cut out extra B-related vitamins so far and it has helped.

Also, have any of you noticed that over time, your child handles gluten better?

At what point do we get to the maximum benefit?

One last question. Anyone find their child never lost the hyperactivity on

Peptizyde and tried another enzyme that worked better.

If this helps in any of you that answer, my son was always verbal, and was mild

on the spectrum (just had huge rage issues b/c of clostridia and yeast) and had

a horrible anesthesia reaction at age 5 that started this mess.

Thanks, Sara

p.s. So glad I found this group. Also started enzymes on my two NT daughters and

have already started seeing great benefits for them too!
