Guest guest
lysine makes my son incredibily hyper and fidgety.. it stinks... i use it when he gets cold sores and just try to ride it out bc i know that he will settle down a couple days after lysine ends.. plus i think it may kick up yeast.. he does get some rash.. i dont know if it is the lysine or the fact that a virus is gettign killed that kicks up the yeast.. all i know is lysine = hyper activity to the point where his legs are bouncing up and down.. ask dana about it.. > > so, it doesn't need lysine. Guest guest
dana, how much lysine did you use? did you get hyperactivity with it? we use lysine for cold sores.. one dan told me 3 a day until cold sore is gone.. this time i think i stopped it too soon and within a day got another cold sore .. thoughts? > > I was on a Webinar the other night and it was mentioned that B6, biotin and ALA required lysine for " proper function " . I'm not looking for an anti-viral, but was wondering if i needed to add this in. I never heard this before. > > > For my son, lysine was one of the supps that was required for him to properly absorb calcium. Guest guest
> dana, > how much lysine did you use? The highest dose I gave was 3000mg 3x per day. >>did you get hyperactivity with it? Yes, because it increased yeast, which caused hyper here. >>we use lysine for cold sores.. one dan told me 3 a day until cold sore is gone.. this time i think i stopped it too soon and within a day got another cold sore .. Keep the lysine, don't remove it once the cold sore is gone. There is likely lots of herpes virus present, and just because the cold sore is gone does not mean the rest of the herpes is gone. It took almost a year of lysine to eliminate all the herpes virus here. Dana
Guest guest
I don't give lysine (my son gets wild on it). I read in Shaw's book about a lysine-arabinose connection. (My son recently had an OAT test which verified high arabinose and had me revisiting my weak theory). Its not like you can avoid lysine or arabinose. They will get lysine in the food they eat, as well as arabinose formed from the breakdown of some foods. However, perhaps the very high levels of arabinose from yeast some of our kids have will combine with supplemented lysine to quickly multiply the effects and that is what we are seeing with those of our children who get so hyper on Lysine. I have no idea if this is a valid theory, but other antivirals don't have this effect on my son. Tressie > > > so, it doesn't need lysine. Guest guest
tell me about it.. i took it away after two days and his mouth is infested.. im so pissed at myself.. we are going to do a whole virual treatment.. he's got more than herpes in there.. poor kids loaded with the sores right now.. i dont have a good enough yeast protocool on board to keep the lysine this time around.. my goal of august and septemeber is to get a good protocol in place and then start the viral therapy.. one of these suckers has been here since july 20th! right now we are just using acyclovier topically \ > > dana, > > how much lysine did you use? > > > The highest dose I gave was 3000mg 3x per day. > > > >>did you get hyperactivity with it? > > > Yes, because it increased yeast, which caused hyper here. > > > >>we use lysine for cold sores.. one dan told me 3 a day until cold sore is gone.. this time i think i stopped it too soon and within a day got another cold sore .. > > > Keep the lysine, don't remove it once the cold sore is gone. Guest guest
tressie what did you end up going with as an antiviral.. i may go the stan kurtz route if my son's liver can stand it.. not sure yet.. probably not full blown valtrex but acyclovier.. our dan used it on another child with good outocmes.. we are building up yeast protocol first.. i understand it is a must.. > > > > so, it doesn't need lysine. Guest guest
Interesting re: the lysine, and making the kids hyper. Mine has been hyper ever since adding lysine and now it makes sense. We are using lysine to treat for mollescum. My daughter has a horrible case and after 3 dermatologists and literally " acid " treatments on her skin, which did not work anyway, I have taken matters into my own hands. Her skin seems a little more inflamed since adding the lysine, hope that is a good sign that it is reacting! > > > dana, > > > how much lysine did you use? > > > > > > The highest dose I gave was 3000mg 3x per day. > > > > > > >>did you get hyperactivity with it? > > > > > > Yes, because it increased yeast, which caused hyper here. > > > > > > >>we use lysine for cold sores.. one dan told me 3 a day until cold sore is gone.. this time i think i stopped it too soon and within a day got another cold sore .. > > > > > > Keep the lysine, don't remove it once the cold sore is gone. Guest guest
> > tell me about it.. i took it away after two days and his mouth is infested.. I used lysine for 2 months for myself, to eliminate a molloscum condition. When that was gone, I foolishly removed the lysine, and 3 days later I developed a nasty case of the flu. Re-starting the lysine eliminated the flu symptoms overnight. I kept the lysine for several more months, then removed it and a month later developed the flu again, which re-starting lysine eliminated again. I still take lysine, I will continue taking it until I get one of the symptoms my kids showed when they no longer needed it. Dana
Guest guest
I'm not one to talk to about virual issues. I don't know that we have enough to worry about so I haven't really done anything major. I have used OLE, upto 10,000mg vit C, herbal mixes, curcumin?, not of these cause even small behavior issues but they also didn't seam to do much. We did Lysine for probably 3 days no benefit, no rashes, just behaviors. Perhaps mine doesn't have viral issue but at least they are not important enough for me to focus on at this time. For us its chelation and yeast protocol. I hope you find what you are looking for. Tressie > > > > > so, it doesn't need lysine. Guest guest
> > Dana, can you take Lysine with GSE? At my house, it was required to take lysine with GSE, because lysine caused a lot of yeast overgrowth here. Dana
Guest guest
> > what symptoms did your kids get when they didnt need it anymore.. Skin issues. Two had major heel cracks, very similar to what their heels looked like with folic acid deficiency [which at first I actually thought was folic deficiency but turned out to be the end of the lysine requirement]. One had a major dry skin patch on the side of her chin. Dana
