Guest guest
Funny you should mention....I am one of the mom's that swears by Dr. Hong. Keep in mind-HE IS NOT A DAN doctor-BUT that doesn't matter to us. We found him about a year into our journey after seeing two DAN's. I just don't want to mislead anyone that he is a DAN-he is not. He has a PhD, and a doctor of acupuncture and chinese medicine who discovered the Bioset technique to cure his own child. We use both him and a DAN together. If you are looking for a naturopath, he is your guy. If you are lookign for more aggressive treatments like chelation or Valtrex, he won't want to do this right off the bat or at all. Neither negative nor positive-just informing you as someone who has done it all. HTH K Tamara Kuhn <tkuhn1@...> wrote: Have you tried Dr. Harry Hong in IL? PA I am horrible at geography, but maybe this can help.....also don't know how far you are willing to travel. We are going to see Dr. Bock in Rhineback, NY (we live in IL) in June....and I heard Dr. Nuebrander is in NJ (correct me if I am wrong, listmates.) I am sure their are others. We started with Usman (basically in our backyard-thankfully), and are now getting other opinions as that never hurts. Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I'm in Northern Illinois and I am not so sure of which Dr. to go to. It seems like everyone has a 6 month waiting list. I am debating on going to see a wellness doctor but keep putting it off. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I also have bcbs insurance. Thanks, > > Have you tried Dr. Harry Hong in IL? Guest guest
If I were you, I would start with Dr. Hong (he doesn't have a long wait list at this time....although he is getting popular....while getting on an actual DAN's waitlist. That way, Dr. Hong can get you started with a quality protocal, and your DAN can enhance it. I wish we would have went this route-it would have saved us a ton of money on wasted supps that my ds could not tolerate until we saw Hong. Guest guest
We are seeing Dr. Hong right now. We were at the Pfeiffer Clinic first and our son got much better with the supplements they subscribed. We also took out a bunch of food allergy items and tried to treat yeast. After two years however, the diarreah came back and did not go away even though medications got stronger and stronger. So we went to Dr. Hong and found out that our son had developed more allergies, not only to more foods, but to the supplements he was taking on a daily basis. We took him off the supplements, and BMs were beeter then ever. However, since the supplements has helped his behavior, his stimming went through the roof. But we stuck with it and after 3 months things are calming down a little bit. The best thing is though that he is overcoming allergies with the Bio-Set method. We were able to add back probiotics and minerals and even dairy (though we still go it only once a week). It will take us many more months to treat all the allergies, but I feel it is worth is. It is the only method I have encountered (other than NAET, a variation), were allergies are turned around rather than eliminating more and more food over the years until you have painted yourself into a corner. Dr. Hong also gives Bach flowers and homeopathic remedies for things like irritability or candida. Christiane PS: Our insurance did not cover it and the initial visit was around $500, subsequent visits (once a month) around $250.
