Guest guest Posted February 7, 2009 Report Share Posted February 7, 2009 it can be, but also can bought over the counter. the pancreatin does not work like plant based enzymes. it's a pH issue. pancreat. works best in duodenum. doesn't do anything to predigest food in stomach like plant enzymes. so therefore it does nothing to alleviate the work of digestion of the pancreas. it does work on inflammation.
