According to the bottle on Candidase you do this treatment for just 2 weeks, 3 x a day. Is it over then? Not necessarily. It depends on a lot of other factors. >>Its kind of hard with school aged kids to find 3 time periods a day when they haven't had food for multiple hours. And if I'm reading the label correctly they can't have food after for 2 hours either? At a minimum, 1/2 hour before meal and at least 1 hour after meal. >>If we have times where they've gotten too much yeasty food - like during these holidays - will a couple days of Candex or Candidase help get things back in balance? Many times, yes. >>Is it just wasted effort to give the product occasionally or is it meant to be entered into as a regimen for a certain amount of time? You can give it just when there is too much yeast. > How do you tell if you've conquered yeast? Thanks to Dana's suggestions I did focus my attention on yeast first over the past few months, but now I'd like to move on to viruses. I used vitamin C, lysine, OLE, and Virastop enzyme. Viral die off does tend to cause a lot of yeast, so watch for that. > The days of calmness, good attention, increased language etc were best right after Diflucan and have decreased since then - so I'm thinking we have not been vigilant enough with yeast, Try giving biotin and/or probiotics. Guest guest
I just switched to ThreeLac. I think it is easier to take, because I only have to take it in the morning. That might be easier for your son in school. Tama mom of 4 C-ACC On Dec 30, 2007 9:57 AM, danasview <danasview@...> wrote: > > > > > I have a question about these yeast fighters. Guest guest
We use Candidase as a maintenance item as we have to fight yeast all the time here. However, I do raise and lower the dosage depending on how my DS is doing with yeast. When things are great, I can give 1 cap 1X/day along with probiotics and a low sugar diet. When yeast gets bad, I raise the dosage and will give up to 3X/day. You can " cheat " a little bit on the timing, but right now I generally give it right before bed (usually around 1-1.5 hours after dinner) and first thing in the morning and then wait 1 hour until breakfast. With my son, the yeast is pretty obvious to me as he gets bright red cheeks, yellowish and looser poop, and he becomes very emotional. These all go away when his yeast is under control. However, each child is different. > > I have a question about these yeast fighters. According to the bottle on Candidase you do this treatment for just 2 weeks, 3 x a day. Is it over then? Its kind of hard with school aged kids to find 3 time periods a day when they haven't had food for multiple hours. And if I'm reading the label correctly they can't have food after for 2 hours either? I don't want to just throw product at them without really understanding if I'm doing it correctly. If we have times where they've gotten too much yeasty food - like during these holidays - will a couple days of Candex or Candidase help get things back in balance? Is it just wasted effort to give the product occasionally or is it meant to be entered into as a regimen for a certain amount of time? > > How do you tell if you've conquered yeast? Or enough to move on to treating it as a maintenance item? I know others have not used pharmaceuticals but I did give my daughter 5 days of Diflucan and wow - what an impact. It was very noticeable so I knew we were on the right track. I make my own SCD yogurt now and that is my main thing that I'm giving for yeast besides a low sugar diet. > > I really have the same questions about viruses. I really cannot separate out the causes and don't want to spend a bunch of time on yeast if we more or less have it under control. > > Thanks for any and all comments > > > > --------------------------------- > Never miss a thing. Guest guest
I've read on this board that pear juice is a good choice as far as a fruit juice that does not promote the growth of yeast. Does that mean that pears are a good choice of fruit to eat? Since GSE kills yeast, does that mean that grapefruit is a good choice of fruit to eat and juice to drink? I like to make fruit smoothies to give my son supplements. Does cranberry/raspberry juice promote yeast? I also like to blend frozen blueberries in the smoothies. Would this promote yeast? My son will not eat vegetables. So I am trying to figure out if I can give him any kind of fruits without yeast flare-ups. Thanks!
