I used biotin and GSE, I never used Nystatin. The most I had to give my son was 20mg biotin and 2 tablets GSE 3x per day. > I've had my son on Biotin 2000 mcg for weeks and the first 2 weeks, I > saw improvement in the headbanging and self injurous behavior. Be sure you are giving the charcoal 45 minutes after the biotin and Nystatin. Dana
Guest guest
Hi Dana: Thank you so much for your reply and your great site:) I was giving my son Biotin and GSE...started slowly and noticed a difference almost immediately. Then I had regression within 2-3 weeks after I started. 2 months into the GSE and Biotin, and Charcoal, he is at his worst ever in hitting us, himself, headbanging and tantrums. Si, I started the Nystatin along with the others. His OAT showed extremely high yeast and oxalates. Anyway, what else can I give to reduce the die-off? Do you think maybe the Biotin worked initially, then did not? Or the yeast built some resistance to it? I started the Nystatin 5 days ago, about 800,000 units and oh boy....talk about regression and violence! I don't want to go the trad. medicine route! I really don't, but I am so worried about him. He is really hurting himself (and us).

Once the yeast is gone, you need to remove the GSE because it can cause bad bacteria overgrowth if given when there is no yeast. That might have been the problem. Try removing the GSE, see if that helps. > His OAT showed extremely high yeast and oxalates. A test only shows a " snapshot in time " . What is his CURRENT condition? Does he still have signs and symptoms of yeast? Or are they gone now? > Do you think maybe the Biotin worked initially, then did not? Or the > yeast built some resistance to it? In my experience, yeast did not build resistance to biotin. Dana
