Guest guest
What antifungal RX is he on and for long now? My son is on Nizoral for a month now and he will pullhair of his ABA therapists or kids that come close to him to take away his toys but I'm not sure if this is b/c of the Nizoral or he just doesn't want to work on ABA or what.... it also puzzles me at this time _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of amysmith_lasvegas Sent: Saturday, May 17, 2008 11:28 PM Subject: Symptoms of strep??? My son has tested positive for strep/scarlet fever. I have never known him to have strep before. This occurred directly after doing a RX antifungal for 30 days...probably creating more room for bacteria to grow. His behavior is different lately. He has been more defiant, not listening as well, etc. Also, he has always basically had a visual stim where he will briefly wiggle his fingers and his eyes will get wide. Now, he has been clapping with it sometimes??? This is so strange to me! He hasn't regressed in language or comprehension...just acting more assertive than usual and more stimmy. Oh, and he also has a flesh colored rash on his back and chest. Can anyone relate? Do these new behaviors sound strep related? I am hoping they will go away as the bacteria goes away. He is on a RX for it right now.
Guest guest
Oh my gosh!!! My 4 yr. old son, who always has GLOWING reports sent home from school, got a bad note sent home the other day for " taking toys away from other kids. " He never does this, but started after we began taking....none other than NIZORAL!! (Ketaconazole) We are off it now and have started Nystatin, so I am hoping for some positive changes. Have you noticed any new stimming or anything??? His behavior has been not so great and he has been spacey. > > What antifungal RX is he on and for long now? These can be strep. Does he have OCD issues? Dana
Guest guest
Yes, he does have some OCD stuff, but it's not consuming or anything. He has to shut his own car door, carries objects with him and has some tactile issues with his hair/shoes being wet. He does lots of verbal stuff mostly and running around the house. There has been no increase in OCD stuff...just clapping with his stim and being spaced out. Was PANDAS ever a situation for you?? > > > > My son has tested positive for strep/scarlet fever. > > > I eliminated strep at my house with olive leaf extract. > > >>His behavior is different lately. I don't know specifically, but I do know my kids had strep, which I eliminated with OLE. They had LOTS of OCD issues, and it took several biomedical interventions to eliminate all the OCD.
