Guest guest
Yeah, I wouldn't freak out. All of the things you listed can cause peeing accidents. The fever because of increased fluids, the wheat because it can inrease yeast, and the Enhansa from yeast die off. It should clear up pretty quickly. If it's not the fever you could try giving him charcoal and see if that helps
Guest guest
Bed Wetting can be a sign of PANDAS which ASD kids are prone to because of the state of their immune systems. I would run an ASO and Dnase titer (for strep). If it is high, you might be able to head off a PANDAS flare with antibiotics or herbals that target strep. > > What is the most likely cause of some urine accidents? He's not had an " accident " in so long this was shocking. The first time he came to me and told me, and he thought it was funny. He is using the toilet all day long, for both bladder and bowel needs, but he's had these two incidents over 2 days, both the same time of day. I was wondering what the most likely cause is based on all your experiences. If I knew the cause, I could fix it! Other symptoms are that he is a acting a little loopy, not listening at all, not eating much, tired, etc which I attributed to being sick but who knows. I see no other signs of yeast though I'm treating for yeast anyway. > > and FYI, we are back on GFCF (well, he's always tolerated trace amounts of gluten/wheat like regular wheat free cereals that may contain a bit of gluten). > > Any thoughts from anyone? Guest guest
-- We recently ran through a litany of tests for my 4 year old who had a 'maybe' seizure this summer. The wetting self question was something the doctors asked a lot about. You may want to research " presence seizure " if your son is spacing out a lot & wetting self in conjunction with those space-outs. It may not be the case, but if it's happening frequently and he is not responding then this may be what you're looking at. Or it may not. I would not assume this is the case, but it's a possibility you may want to research or ask the doctors about. It could be seizures related to the increase in medication, too. Read the pamphlet to see if seizure is a possible side-effect. Again, speak to the prescribing doctor about these incidents. > > What is the most likely cause of some urine accidents? Guest guest
Yeast can also cause accidents as well as oxalate dumping. When my son dumps oxalates, its almost as if he doesnt feel when he needs to go until just before the accident occurs. It only lasts for a day and then its back to normal. If he's acting a bit loopy, Id suspect yeast. Karla > > What is the most likely cause of some urine accidents? I'll give you some choices: > fever/virus/not feeling well > a trial of wheat in a diet that previously contained trace amounts only > a sudden increase in Enhansa, from 300 to 600 mg a week ago > typical 5 year old behavior These are all possibilities, but the fever/virus and the Enhansa, together would indicate a likelihood of a yeast overgrowth problem, and yeast overgrowth at my house tended to cause wetting accidents. >>that he is a acting a little loopy, not listening at all, not eating much, tired, etc which I attributed to being sick but who knows. I see no other signs of yeast though I'm treating for yeast anyway. Increase the yeast protocol [but NOT by increasing Enhansa, which can actually increase yeast] and see if that helps.
