DS ate cashews last night and they came out this am as they went in. It has

always been like this for him however, I'm not sure if this is a normal thing.

I don't believe when I eat nuts they come out whole so, I'm wondering if he just

can't digest and if so, what could I do, if anything, to help him better digest.

TIA!

If any food with a firmer outside (nuts, corn) is not chewed enough, it will

come out looking pretty much as it went in. For them to come out this

morning already is what puzzles me, I thought it took about a day. I know

babies will poop after a meal, but that is the new pushing out the old.....

Yeah, it is kinda a fast transit time but we have been working on his yeast

issues and he is on a ton of supplements that are causing loose and fast stools.

The chunks are very solid and large enough that I can't believe he is not

chewing them all the way. He is just about 3yrs old with all of his teeth. I'm

amazed he is not chewing all the way...especially chewing is his favorite past

time lol!

,

Can you pick up some litmus paper and check the Ph of his stool (it should

be alkaline). This could be helpful to see if he needs enzymes or if has

enzymes but isn't producing enough bile.

===>Maybe the kids need to chew the cashews? Why would they swallow them

whole?

I notice my DD cashews and Olives come out whole sometimes.. It is pretty

gross!!

You crack me up, .

I'm hoping she means undigested pieces. Do you? I think nuts are notorious for

coming out the other end partially digested and intact due to their high dietary

fiber content. Is it considered a problem?

===>Hi Pam :-)

Still thinking they aren't chewing them thoroughly. I don't think little kids

know to chew things really well before they swallow them, you have to remind

them from time to time. I can't say we've ever had that problem here, but I

don't know if it's a problem. I'd just teach them to chew more thoroughly or

until they could maybe not give them things that are hard to digest unless they

chew well or in forms that don't require a lot of chewing i.e. nut butters, etc.
