Guest guest
> Ok, so after 6 months of docs and people telling me that my sons cracked and bleeding lips were due to him licking his lips (definitely NOT the case!). I finally found out that cracked and bleeding lips can be due to a B-12 deficiency. The bleeding lips appeared about the time we switched to a new B-12 cream formulation. Anyone else ever heard of this? At my house, this was deficiency in B2 and folic acid. B12 requires B2 and folic acid [and carnitine] for proper absorption. Usually, it was B2 that caused the lip issues. Try adding B2 and maybe carnitine [b2 also requires carnitine for proper absorption] and see if that helps. I used a few different brands that I liked. TwinLabs was one I liked. Dana
Guest guest
I just wanted to give everyone an update. We started back with the old B-12 cream and within 2 weeks my sons lips were back to normal. I guess he just wasn't able to absorb the new cream formulation for some reason.
