Guest guest
You said no tri enza was a disater - have you tried no fenol seperately? We also tried tri enza and he went absolutely crazy. It was scary What you describe sounds very much like my son was. We followed the feingold diet - unfortunately full blown - had to cut out all fruit except pears and all other high salicylates. This made an incredible difference BUT then we moved onto no fenol and the hyeractivity issues stopped. We have now introduced back all fruits and sals. Within 2 days of no fenol he was a different child. He played for the first time ever with his toys. We started on a tiny amount and increased daily - we did then add zyme prime then peptizide very slowly and eventually switched to tri enza- took over 4 months. I still add extra no fenol to the tri enza as I know he has a problem with phenols. Also do epsom salts baths. Guest guest
Hi Alison. Thanks for your input. I do give him no-fenol with highly phenolic foods. Maybe I should give it to him with other foods too. He is an *extremely* picky and inconsistent eater. In the last 24 hours, all he's eaten is Ultracare for Kids (a nutritional supplement) and bananas. He's on the gfcf diet (extremely hardcore on this - nothing even produced on the same line as a gluten product comes into our house), no corn, and gets no artificial colours or flavours. High phenol foods do make him nutty, so he gets very little of them. And yes, epsom salts regularly. I also have a mag cream that I rub into him when he refuses baths. Guest guest
I have heard other parents talk about how neurofeedback has helped their children improve their focus and concentration. Is your child on a special diet and has yeast been ruled out as a problem. My now 4 year old had similar issues before we started the scd 1+ year ago. If there is no other cause you might want to learn more about neurofeedback. Maybe some folks on this blog can tell you about their experiences if they have tried it. Guest guest
Recommend trying Omega's along with Feingold. We have had tremendous success with attention issues on my (now 4-yr-old) daughter. We use Nordic Natural EPAs (4:1 ratio to DHA & over 800mg of EPAs) & put them in her OJ. Also like Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omegas (flavor is better and you can just measure out)-- Not the 4:1 ratio we were recommended in our original research, but it's still over 800mg EPA & about the same DHA. > > Hi . Guest guest
My son needed MAJOR yeast fighters to be able to sit still. We still fight this all of the time because we are chelating right now. Candizyme is the best thing for us along with high dose biotin to kill the yeast. > > Help oh autism gurus of the Enzymes and Autism list! > > I have a 4 year old boy with autism - he's so hyper, I think it drives *him* nuts (me, I'm long past crazy). Guest guest
Bananas are high in phenols and they make my son, who is sensitive to phenols, " go bananas " . ) I use No Phenol with ANYTHING that is phenolic in addition to TriEnza, also Epsom salt baths nightly. Guest guest
I have definitely seen that no fenol helps Charlies hyperactivity (in fact it has totally turned it around). I give it with each meal regardless of phenol level in food. I am convinced it is somehow assisting with sulphation problem. I've emailed Devin Houston a couple of times about this - it seems there have been many similar reports and some things are still not understood about the complexity of phenols. I would certainly give this a go unless you feel theres anthing to loose. alison R On 7 July 2010 18:55, josie2boyz <josie2boyz@...> wrote: > > > Bananas are high in phenols and they make my son, who is sensitive to > phenols, " go bananas " . ) I use No Phenol with ANYTHING that is phenolic in > addition to TriEnza, also Epsom salt baths nightly.
