I give my 7 year old (weighs 60 lbs.)500 mg in AM, 250 mg in mid day, 500 mg at bedtime. Very neuro-calming, but haven't heard about it reducing muscle spasms in the stomach. I've been told that you should start out low and give it till it causes drowsiness. Kirkman sells a 250 mg capsule. Taurine is a good supplement for the GI; helps my sons' digestion, and is also neuro-calming. Have you tried digestive enzymes?
