Can anyone help. I don't want to put him on a GFCF diet because that will eliminate most of what he eats so my BIG question is can I use the enzymes regardless of if he is on the GFCF diet?ThanksKathy
Guest guest
So you have to call to get a free sample? I hate calling on the phone, I am on the spectrum too and I would much rather correspond with e-mail, is that possible? -Undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome Stay at home mom to 3, Wife to -6-6-02-Autism Spectrum, the light of my life Katy-11-19-03-undiagnosed genetic syndrome that includes cleft palate-Pierre Robin Sequence, scoliosis, heart defects, short stature, low muscle tone, developmental delay, oral defensiveness, g tube fed part time-working on oral feeding, slightly dysmorphic features, and my joy J.D-no issues except he is totally in love with mommy, cutest baby in the world visit my blog http://busiestmommyinamerica.blogspot.com " If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart! Guest guest
HI I just looked on their site...and there is a spot where you can ask Dr. Houston questions via email...give it a try...they are all very nice there. Good luck, let me know if there is anything that I can do to help. Carla RE: I need some help with starting son on enzymes. Which particular type of enzyme did you do to do this and was there a time period in which you kept your child on the enzyme before going off of the diet. My son has been GFCFSFRiceFCornFOatsFEFTomatoeF and a few others for the past 9months and I just can't take it anymore!!!! There's just too many. I used HNI Peptizyde and AFP Peptizyde, both worked here. I waited for the 3 weeks, because my son did have adjustment symptoms. Then I added back wheat with noticeable improvements. I did have to be sure that there was no corn syrup in the bread etc, because my son still did not tolerate corn, even with enzymes. But straight wheat was wonderful. Guest guest
Hi Kathy, I would first like to recommend the website enzymestuff.com. You will find a ton of very helpful information there. There's also a great book written by DeFelice entitled " Enzymes and Autism and other Neurological Conditions " . It's a very informative and practical book that almost everyone on this group has read! She recommends starting " low and slow " . A low dose enzyme is good to start with and then work your way up to a more potent enzyme. She recommends starting with Lacto which should work great for him because he eats a lot of dairy foods. But then you can work him up to DigestGold. DigestGold is the number one selling digestive enzyme. It's very potent and has worked great for so many parents. If you would samples and information on both products just let me know, I'll send them out! Please feel free to ask me any questions.
