Guest guest
Hey Moms. We just got a new cream from our allergist called Atopiclair...it's Shea Butter in a tiny little tube for eczema. Nonsteroidal. So far, it's doing a very good job of soothing and healing! Just a dab will do ya, and it's in a very handy tube - not sure if you've tried shea butter from the grocery, but generally the container is a bit hard to carry around. Do you think that is metals? Usually, a rash where you apply a cream means intolerance to the cream base. Dana **************Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. Guest guest
My son's eczema is no more thanks to a clean diet. Not always, but many times skin issues is a sign of a food allergys or intolerance. Tammy Re: Atopiclair -- was Newbie Question - Yeast despite negative labs? Hi Joni, Thanks for this info. Guest guest
Tammy, You're lucky. My son is also 100% on the allergy scale to dust mites. Since they're everywhere, and particularly bad when he has to go to his father's house, it's nice to have this Shea Butter in a convenient presentation, even if it is a prescription. He's taking shots for them and it's better now than ever, but his cheeks and eyes were red this weekend at his father's house where I suspect the dust mites were in the pillow area. I told his father to put pillow and all in the hot dryer along with the dust mite protectors but I am not certain that this was done. I also can't be certain that his diet is followed at his father's house although I was told it was. The Shea Butter as Atopiclair along with some Pataday eyedrops helped him to recover from the weekend at Dad's, which is all that anyone can do, after the fact. Sometimes you have to walk in the moccasins! We've been gluten and casein free since 2006 and eliminated 30 food sensitivities. His allergist said last week that he's better than she's ever seen him. Guest guest
Beth, I replied to you directly, but I'm posting this here for the rest of the list. Atopiclair is prescription...I just got a handful of samples from the MD and she wrote us a scrip too. So far, it's going very well. Here's _something_ (http://dermproducts.com/product/atopiclair) I found online about it... She gave me an information sheet that had the following: Apply Atopiclair nonsteroidal cream to the affected skin areas 2 to 3 times a day (or as needed) Massage gently into the skin If skin is broken, cover Atopiclair nonsteroidal cream with a dressing of choice For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. It also says that Atopiclair nonsteroidal cream does not contain milk, wheat, peanut or animal derivatives. Atopiclair nonsteroidal cream does contain shea butter (butyrospermum parkii), a derivative of shea nut oil (not peanut oil) and should be administered with care in patients with a known allergy to nuts or nut oils. Stocking information for pharmacies: NDC#13453 100 11 Amerisource 4870408; Bergen Brunswig 032286; Cardinal 3663879; McKesson 1338482 _www.atopiclairUS.com_ (http://www.atopiclairUS.com) Our CVS pharmacy said that they have it in stock as a prescription. Hope this helps. So far, I can see an immediate positive response for my son's sweet little cheeks. Joni Re: Atopiclair -- was Newbie Question - Yeast despite negative labs? Guest guest
My son had eczema on both of his hands. It was stubborn. I cleaned it up by giving him clay bath. It's amazing that his eczema immediately got much better right after the bath. My two cents...... Connie Re: Atopiclair -- was Newbie Question - Yeast despite negative labs?
