When you say 'short', how short do you mean? Could it just be hair? I know mine

has hair in it sometimes because I chew my hair when I'm stressed.

They look to be about an inch in length, on the outside, It doesn't appear to go

through the poop, but I've never checked!

I don't think he has intentionally chewed on his hair, but we do have lots of

dog hair floating around our house!

Thanks,

the commonest worms are pinworms but they are much shorter than that

(half a centimetre maybe), white and wiggle around.

sounds like some sort of fibre to me

my daughter has her hands in her mouth all the time these days

i have just had to roll up our moroccan carpet because i kept finding wool

fibers in her poop.

she also had worms recently and we definitely saw one moving.

If it looks like strings of melted cheese, that meant yeast here.

What about if it looks grainy like it has sand in it?

Could be Oxalates. My sons BMs are grainy/sandy when he's going through an

oxlate dump. You might want to check out the Trying Low Oxalates group.

Eating pears can cause this.

Oxalates can cause this.

Bad bacteria and/or die off can cause this.

Thanks to Karla, I think, I went to that other group, trying_low_oxalates and

read what they had to say about grainy stools. That was the first time in 2

years anyone had any explanation for me. Even if you don't think the diet is for

you, I'd recommend reading the info there about oxalates. We are trying the

diet, slowly, and so far everything is on par with what other parents have

experienced. Worth a look!
