Guest guest
I am taking a break from enzymes with my 7 year old PDD-NOS son. We are still keeping to the GF diet, with a few cheats. I decided to take a whirl at additional B supplements, and tried to ramp up from 1/2 tablet to a full tablet. The first day I went to the full tablet (which is about 200% to 300% of the daily recommended allowance of B complex) he was fabulous. Just great focus and calm - and this was in the midst of a trip downtown to Macy's to see Santa. Next day ... not so much. I think I jumped into this with inadequate research, since a lot of the posts in today's digest talked about folic acid and b12. On the " good day " he had cereal for breakfast, so I am thinking that the folic acid they add to that in great amounts contributed to the upswing. When I checked Dana's blog, it seemed like the B6 amounts mentioned in the articles were way, way higher than in the hundreds of percent of the DRV - I am a little nervous about going that far, but I think I can see that this would help. I know magnesium is also required, would epsom salt baths at night be enough, or do you need to have the magnesium taken with the B? Can anyone recommend a good produce to use for this, preferably powder or liquid? Right now, I grind up the vitamins and mix with peanut butter or nutella. Thanks!
