Guest guest
My son will initially have diarhhea, but then suffer with constipation if the gluten is continued. I feel that his gut seems to over-react and produce alot of mucous. I also think it becomes inflamed as a result of the gluten. Anything that is inflamed or swollen doesn't work correctly, so I imagine the walls of the colon could become swollen and inflamed enough to retard the passage of waste. Just a thought... paula > > In a message dated 22/12/2009 05:01:33 GMT Standard Time, > wiersmak@... writes: > > Im wondering if others have seen this (mostly the change in reaction to > gluten) and if this is an indication that his gut is starting to heal. > >>Maybe > > > > Any thoughts? > > >>Are you using enzymes for infractions? > > > Mandi in UK > > > > > >

Guest guest
He used to have diarrhea, but we've been lucky in that the infractions are few and far between. However this time there was no stomach cramps, diarrhea and no behavioral changes. He just couldnt go (not for lack of trying). > > My son will initially have diarhhea, but then suffer with constipation if the gluten is continued. Guest guest
Get a new gene test for gluten DQ-2, DQ-8.Just a simple blood draw. My daughters better I have been more dillegent about cross contamination in kitchen. She seems better. Deb K > > Over thanksgiving my son got some regular oatmeal and within hours he was constipated. (he normally gets Lara's Oatmeal and has never had a problem with it, so Im assuming that he got some gluten due to cross contamination) After two days of watching him struggle to go, I finally gave him a laxative to get things moving. > > This is a change. Any time we had a gluten infraction in the past (thankfully they've been rare), he's had an upset stomach and diarrhea within hours, along with behavioral problems for a few days. > > We also had a dairy infraction last week. The boy went to town on the sour cream vegi dip at a christmas party. This time we didnt have any reaction at all. Im hoping this means I can occasionally give him some dairy. Definately not ready to try this with gluten. > > Im wondering if others have seen this (mostly the change in reaction to gluten) and if this is an indication that his gut is starting to heal. > > Any thoughts? > > Karla >
