My 8 year old PDD-NOS son just claims his tummy feels better and now he's

trying new foods. I also have a nt child with food allergies, even has a

baby, if something didn't agree with him he'd refuse. The first time he may

eat, the next it was refusal. It's been interesting.

My PDD-NOS son started out has a baby eating everything I put in front of

him and got pickery and pickery with age and it drive me nuts. My nt food

allergy son, will try anything and everything I put in front of him if it is

safe. Crazy world, hey?

BIG increase in appetite

My son has been off gf/cf and using enzymes instead. (I mostly give him

organic foods and still don't give too much dairy or bread). His

appetite is incredible all of a sudden. This is a kid who maybe would

eat 4-6 types of food and NEVER tried anything new without gagging and

spitting it out. Now he'll eat anything I put in front of him, or he'll

at least try it without the gagging. He's gained a pound in the last 2

weeks! I'm happy about this, but I was wondering if the appetite is

coming from A) Sensory issues regarding food getting better....or B)

maybe he felt sick eating before and now he doesn't. My son is non-

verbal so I can't ask him, but I was wondering if you guys had any

ideas/experiences?

I think that is great!! He may also be going through a growing spurt, this well

increase appetite. My son is non verbal also, can make things soooo much more

difficult!! I would think as long as his bm's are moving good(no constipation/to

loose) this is a good thing!! Has this just been since the enzymes?? Jennie<><

Yep, it started about a week after giving him enzymes. I wondered

about the growth spurt thing too, but as I recall he would just eat

more of his " regular " food (meaning he would eat all his hot dog

instead of some of it) Now he eats 2-3 hot dogs and a side dish. The

greatest thing is he now eats breakfast!! He would NEVER eat before

11 am and now he'll eat about 30 min after he wakes up! I feel so

much better sending him to school with food in his stomach!

When my son was eating all the time, it was because he was eating

foods [or supplements] not tolerated, or he had a yeast overgrowth

problem.
