Guest guest
Has anyone had good results with Essiac (generic name) or the brand name Flor*Essence for Aspergers or otherwise? Just wanted to know if anyone out there had tried it and for what reasons and what effect did they get. I've had to give it to my son for getting him out of " sleep funks " where he would sleep 18 hours a day. First time it happened, it went on for 6 weeks. He was 4.5 years old and that's when we found out he was really constipated and needed to be taken off of milk. He couldn't fight a simple virus (proven by bloodwork to just be a simple virus). He got a nice fever and fought the virus the first morning after I gave him the Flor*Essence. Had the fever for 2 days and sleep went back to nearly normal, and then a holistic doctor tweaked the rest. Later, around age 8, he seemed to be " done " with the milk intolerance, so he slowly started having more milk and cheese. But, this past year, he had 2 sleep funks and I used the FlorEssence right away (well, after about 3 days when I realized ... hey, this is that " sleep funk " thing aain maybe 'cos no other symptoms ...). It returned him to his normal state within 2 days and he stopped taking it after about 10 days. I just wonder if it would be a good, natural yeast remover or chelator since it's such a great detox. I noticed his mood improved right away after taking it this time. We haven't had one of those crazy meltdowns either, although he's got a lot of testosterone stirring 'cos of the puberty thing. Please tell me if you have tried the Essiac (Flor*Essence) for your child's behavior, yeast, anything. He just got over another illness and the sleep funk started up (as if his immune system goes into overload) and the FlorEssence cleared it up right away again. I'm wondering if I should keep him on a maintenance dose for a long time ... a year or 2. I did find one website where someone said that FlorEssence/Essiac cured their child of Aspergers and/or yeast at welltellme dot com. Some used the ojibwatea version of Essiac. Thanks!
