Guest guest
> While I know the B Vitamins are not retained by the body like some others are, I think I heard somewhere that too much Folic Acid could be harmful, plus if the body has to dump the other excesses, it's more work for what, in our kids' systems, is often an already overtaxed toxin-cleaning system, so I'm hesitant to give too much. At the same time, I've read that the RDA is often grossly insufficient for our kids, due to their various metabolic issues. RDA was grossly insufficient for my son. I had to give massive amounts of most B vitamins for at least a year, and for some of the Bs, longer than a year. > There's also the question if we do add B vitamins to what she's already getting, of supplementing magnesium to keep them from causing hyper or similar problems. She's already getting 500-750 mg per day of magnesium in her calcium supplement. Would I need to add more? Extra B6 would need magnesium. You would want to increase the magnesium if she started showing signs of deficiency with the current dose. If it is part of the cal/mag, it is likely that most or all of the mag is being used for the absorption of the calcium, so not much would be left over for the B6 and/or any other supps that require magnesium. Guest guest
Seeing your on the subject of B vitamins.... Gotta few questions pertaining to them. We just did an organic acids test which showed huge deficiencies in our 11 yr. old son, of B vitamins, folic acid, glutethione, vitamin C, magnesium, selenium and zinc. I added 1 capsule a day of Pure Encapsulations B6 complex, to our son's already huge daily vitamin regimen which contains, Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Palmitate) 15 mg Thiamine HCI (B1) 100 mg Riboflavin (B2) 5 mg Riboflavin 5' Phosphate (Activiated B2) 10 mg Niacinamide 100 mg Inositol Hexaniacinate (No-Flush Niacin) 10 mg Pyridoxine HCI (B6) 250 mg Pyridoxal 5' Phosphate (Activiated B6) 10 mg Folic Acid 400 mcg Methylcobalamin (B12) 400 mcg Biotin 400 mcg Pantothenic Acid (Calcium Pantothenate) (B5) 100 mg Since I've added these he cannot fall asleep at night, high fears and anxiety as well as some uncommon stuttering while speaking. He was already taking daily krill (1000 mg. Mercola), probiotics 66 billion cfu's(Mercola), 500 mg. glycine by Pure, 250 mg. vit. C by metagentics and CoQ10 100 mg. (Ubiquinol) Mercola brand. Any help would be appreciated! Reduce the dose and add magnesium and yeast control. Many kids need B6 but have problems with it. It tends to cause problems for kids with phenol issues, and it definitely tends to increase yeast. Guest guest
Thanks Dana! Can I just add biotin or yeast cleanse? I just stopped the B Complex and I'm afraid to start it up again. I did see his anxiety subside a bit. So the yeast is always going to be an issue while on the B vitamins? Thanks again for your help! > > I added 1 capsule a day of Pure Encapsulations B6 complex, to our > Since I've added these he cannot fall asleep at night, high fears and anxiety as well as some uncommon stuttering while speaking. > > > Reduce the dose and add magnesium and yeast control. Try that, see if it helps. > I just stopped the B Complex and I'm afraid to start it up again.
