Guest guest
Hi Listmates, MY 4 YO son is now on his 18 days of diflucan (50mg/day). I notice that since he has been on the Diflucan, he always reacts badly to any new supplements that I introduced and even supplements that he had been on for a long time without any problem (but which I have only suspended briefly and introduced again). Yesterday I gave him Cod Liver Oil which he has stopped taking for about 10 days, and he went really pale (with a tint of green). The other day I tried to introduced Vitamin E (new supplement) and he had a lot, a lot of silly laughs after ingesting the very, very small amount of vit E. My son is very sensitive (reacted badly to glutathione, DMG) and so I am cautious about anything I give him. I have been really worried about the course of diflucan he is on (checked RFT and LFT at 2 weeks mark and all OK). The only suppls he is on now is just Vit C, Vit B6, Magnesium citrate, zinc, probiotic and activated charcoal when things get out of hand. (1) CAn someone tell what his reacting badly to these suppls mean? Is it because his system is weaker so more sensitive or is it the die-off worsened by the suppls given? (2) The anal red ring which disappeared when we first started diflucan has returned. Last night I saw a big red ring around the outer area of the anus (nearer the bum area). Also he has been waking up early at 5'ish or 6'ish for the past few days (although he always go back to sleep within half an hour). ARe these signs of yeast flare up or have I kicked up a mass bacterial overgrowth because of the antifungal? How can I find out? So sorry about this being so long but I am so lost and my DAN is terrible at replying to emails. MAny many thanks

Guest guest
Andy, Thanks for your reply. So are you saying that his body cannot tolerate the Diflucan? His behaviour got better esp in the beginning when we first started on the diflucan, but after about 7 days on it, I notice he seems tired and I thought it is just the effects of die-off as I am still seeing mases of what seems like dead yeast fibres coming out in his stool. His tummy is also no longer bloated and he is eating much, much more. So do you think I should stop the diflucan immediately and then change him to natural anti-fungals? Many thanks From: andrewhallcutler <AndyCutler@...> Subject: [ ] Re: introducing new suppls whilst on Diflucan? Well, it will kill of the yeast fine even if it ends up bothering him. > > So do you think I should stop the diflucan immediately and then change him to natural anti-fungals? That seems like quite a reasonable option to me. The other thought (less reasonable) is to give him a lot of milk thistle extract frequently and hope that makes the diflucan more tolerable. > > Many thanks > > Andy > > Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment > > Hair Test Interpretation: Finding Hidden Toxicities</ a > > > Nourishing Hope for Autism: Nutrition Intervention for Healing Our Children > > Biological Treatments for Autism and PDD > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Andy, Thanks for your prompt reply. Milk thistle seems to be out for us. I did experiment it on him before starting anti-fungal - he ended up with frequent urination (I was doing 5 drops one time a day) and he was going like 6 times in an hour. I told my DAN and he said that is unusal and asked me to stop it. My son also has a history of high'ish oxalate so milk thistle may not be that great for him. Do you have any thoughts on natural antifungals? Do I need to go low and slow if I switch him to natural antifungal now? Many thanks From: andrewhallcutler <AndyCutler@...> Subject: [ ] Re: introducing new suppls whilst on Diflucan? Diflucan stresses the liver. I would give liver support supps, or drop the Diflucan and use something else for yeast. > (2) The anal red ring which disappeared when we first started diflucan has returned. What worked best at my house was biotin, GSE, ACV, and Candidase. OoO can also work well. Dana
Guest guest
, We've never used diflucan (and won't) however, when my son responded badly to CLO and Vit E, it was due to soy allergy. He may sensitive to soy. Look at the ingredients carefully. Vit E is usually soy derived and most of the CLO and E out there have soy in them unless it specifically says " free of soy " . Also, if that is the case, you may want to do some food journaling, learn the names of " hidden " soy in foods and see if that is problematic as well. > > Hi Listmates, > > MY 4 YO son is now on his 18 days of diflucan (50mg/day).
