red eye lids and red line under eyes

Hi!

My son's behavior has been been filled with anxiety and fear. The last two days

were especially bad.

Today he woke up bright and cheerful, went grocery shopping with me, put away

the groceries and has been extremely helpful, a big contrast from the last

couple of days.

I find it odd that today, with his good behavior, his eye lids are red, and he

has a red line under his eyes, like where you would put eye liner.

His eyes themselves are not red or itchy.

How does he go overnight from horrible behavior to good behavior, yet have

redness around the eyes? Any ideas?
