Hey !

Why would I want Niacinamide instead?  How much would you give a 34 pounder?

The reason I am looking into Niacin is for the flush as it aids in

detoxification.  What does niacinamide do?

Niacin speeds up phase 1 liver metabolism. If you speed it up too much, then

phase 2 won't be able to keep up with it. A lot of people with multiple

chemical sensitivities are fast phase 1. Believe me, you do not want this!

Niacinamide slows down phase 1, so it might not be what you want either.

Per Andy, Niacin is not good for the liver, but he does mention it in AI to

speed up phase 1 if that's a problem.

I wouldn't mess with these just for detox purposes unless you know for sure

about the speed of liver metabolism.

What are you trying to accomplish? Do you think liver is slowing down detox

progress? Are you chelating? I would suggest reading Amalgam Illness (

noamalgam.com) as it talks a lot about liver phases and other " detox " stuff.

Dana,

When I tried Niaminacide on Ruby she got very sweaty and blotchy and

weird. So I have only given it a couple of times and then stopped. She

reacted poorly to 5 HTP as well, so I am guessing she has high

seratonin. Personally, I didn't like it. That was why I suggested the

Niaminacide you don't get the flush, but you don't want the flush!

Thank you for this info.  I just ordered Andy Cutler's book and look forward to

reading it.  I will not mess with either supplement.
