My youngest child is terrible with taking anything, even if it tastes good! I

found allergen free, dye free gummy multivitamins and Omega 3,6,9. The multi

vites are Lil Critters , the Omega 3,6,9 is Yummie Bears. I ordered both on

amazon. They taste just like gummy bears, she loves them. Probiotics are still

somewhat of a struggle...I saw a product that was a straw with a probiotic in

it. It's supposedly tasteless, and they only have to drink a little to get the

full dose. I think it was called Biagia.

if your desperate, use a capri sun pouch and syringe into it the supplements and

juice you prefer. He can't see in and may like the taste. I used to have to do

this when my son rejected juice or water I had put supplements in. Good luck.

Well #1 can you google " teach your child to swallow pills " it is worth the time

to stop and teach him.

It took our son a long time to accept supplements in juice -- we're honest about

it saying " I know it tastes bad " and offer a treat afterward. In Feb. he had a

bad stomach virus and it was 5-7 days before he could eat normally. After that

he refused juice. We tried ro re-start very slowly for 7 weeks. It did not work.

He said " I don't like it! " which is one of his speech goals -- negation and self

advocating so we had to honor that in our view. He agreed to take the liquids in

capsules, we buy the 00 size capsules.

Hi. I missed the first thread to this posting, but wanted to add my comment.

Maybe it's already been tried.

My 13 yr old son can not swallow pills either. I don't know if it's the texture

thing or what, but we put the pill in a spoonful of applesauce and he takes it

just fine. If the pills are to big, but can be cut in half then I cut them and

put in seperate spoonfuls...

I hope this helps,

Rhonda in CA

Can he have chocolate? I sometimes melt chocolate chips (gf/cf/sf/nf). Then

put small amount of chocolate, along with few supplements in small cupcake

liners. I then refrigerate pieces of chocolate. It looks like a mini reeses

peanut butter cup. I don't do it too often, but when I need to mix it up a

bit... Also, we switch up the kinds of juice we use. Sometimes if it is a bit

thick (more like a smoothie), my girls take it easier. Sometimes, if we turn

the tv on or put on their " juice hats, " they take it. Finally, there are days I

just have to give them the minimum doses of things (I understand this is not an

option for some). I also try to find chewable forms of things (fish oil

gummies), to substitute on days I can't get them to take fish oil, chewable

calcium, etc. There are some lotions, too, that you can rub on them that have

zinc or glutathione or magnesium, if those are supplements you are using.
