Guest guest
Looks like a classic case of email hijacking, because Jaimye was a legit member of the group for a few years. I put his account on moderated status and sent him a private email alerting him to the problem. Email hijacking seems to be an increasing problem. -:Mike On Tue, Oct 20, 2009 at 6:48 PM,
Guest guest
I received the exact same thing on another address. SPAM it is, and I delete it and try to find ways to " unsubscribe " but some of these, especially one for pharmaceuticals, make it impossible to do so. Trying to click on the " Unsubscribe " and it takes you to an advertising page, with NO more of the " Unsubscribe " areas in it. I write them by " REPLY " with a big lot of printing stating that I am not interested in their products, and it comes back as undeliverable. Tiresome and irritating. I just delete it. Guest guest
Interesting. I wonder if they take over unused email names when the user stops using them? Guest guest
Hello : Somehow, I didn't think it came from you. I had a similar problem with my e-mail. Spammers get an e-mail address and spam people using their " own " address. It ticks me off, if I reply to their spam my reply just come back to me. There must be someway a person can track these turkeys down when they mess with someone's e-mail address? Guest guest
This means that you now have or once had malware on your computer. What happens is that the malware either uses your address book in real time to send spam from your computer using your email address as the return address -- or (more likely) it sends your address book back to a spammer, in which case the spammer uses their computers or their zombie computers to send the spam. In either case they use your return email address (this is known as " spoofing " your return address) and your address book in concert so that their spam always appears to originate from a friend. If the malware program sent your address book back to the spammer, the spammer no longer needs your computer and there is nothing you can do to prevent more spam being sent to everyone in your address book, and it will all appear to come from you. About the only thing you can do in this case is to clean your computer of the malware and then change your email address and notify everyone in your address book that any email coming from the old address is not really coming from you. In any case, the chances are that you still have the malware on your computer and there is a good chance that your computer is being used as a zombie spam forwarder. (There are millions of zombie computers out there.) To prevent this from happening in the future, everyone should be religious about installing every security update as soon as it is released (I use the automatic update feature) and to install firewall software and virus detection software and to keep it up to date. > > Someone seems to have hijacked my address book. This did not come from me. > >  > > Do one thing every day that scares you. >  Eleanor Roosevelt > > > > > ________________________________ > From: B <rboylern@...> > tonytedeschistemple1 ; spoof@...; abuse@...; themail@...; retromen ; spoof@...; lets_rumble ; underwear_forever ; guyz_eatn_snatch ; ; _alternative_medicine ; black_and_white_pics ; ed@...; mann_page ; smpshrine ; newjackcity ; tddybr1@...; pitiwee ; congressional_corruption ; cheekyboistr8 ; dayton@...; brokebackmountainloversthree ; intrepidboi@...; friends00004 ; jake_gyllenhaal_fangroup > Sent: Mon, November 9, 2009 4:48:24 PM > Subject: [Flu] hi, u..! > >  > Dear friend, > I want to share a good website with you:  www.opilas.com < http://www.opilas. com>. > They mainy sell new and original products.
