Dear all,

Thinking of getting magnesium for my kid who is inattentive, figety/hyper and

has a very confused mind. Bowel movement also no good, once in 3-4 days.

Thinking of Kirkman Magnesium Glycinate. Any good ? What dosage for 43kg kid ?

What are the side effects of giving too much magnesium ?

Read that Kirkman Magnesium Glycinate may help chelate alumimium but I am not

doing chelation. Should I still try Kirkman Magnesium Glycinate? Can I just give

magnesium alone or must I also give calcium at the same time ? What dosage

calcium ?

Appreciate all feedback.

Thanks in advance,

Anne

If you want to increase the magnesium levels, give the magnesium alone. Giving

it with calcium, it will help in the absorption of the calcium and you won't

have as much of the magnesium itself absorbed.

Any magnesium is fine. We prefer epsom baths for magnesium needs, tho we like

the magnesium " mixes " when upping it in a supp...it is not a chelator...can give

it alone, and I would start at the 2-400mg range & move up, 800mg in a day in

not uncommon (divided doses work best)...a search at moria's site or a look at

the supplement file here at the group should help with figuring out what you

want to do specifically. elizabeth

or bad ? I read that magnesium glycinate is also for chelating aluminium but I

am not doing chelation so should I choose this or other forms of magnesium

(which type) ? What dosage should I give for a 45kg child ? Any long term side

effects ?
