I give my 10 yr old son Epsom salt foot baths. Let him soak while watching tv or

doing homework. About 1/2 cup to a cup of salts in a foot bath or big plastic

tub with very warm water. Let him soak for about 15+ mins. Also, Taurine

supplement helps with the PST pathway. Helps my 7 yr old ASD son a lot (along

with epsom salt baths) No-Phenol enzyme is also given whenever eating phenolic

foods and he also takes TriEnza (has No-Phenol in it) with all meals.

My blog has a page of info on PST/phenols:

Is he on gfcfsf?  Also if he won't bathe in epsom salt, can you give him some

oral magnesium?  If he won't take pills, can you hide stuff in what he drinks:

Hi Everyone,

I'm new so will give a quick intro. My 10 y.o. son has spd - is extremely

tactile defensive - goes along with rigidity, collecting, eczema, picking at his

skin, explosive melt downs - most of which started when he was about 2 years

old.

I think he could benefit from epsom salt baths (did them years ago), but he does

not bathe at all anymore. He does not put any lotion, cream, oil etc on his

skin.

He will take pills (although very resistant to the number lately... I think he

burned out on taking so many before)... so if there is something to take orally

instead of doing epsom salt baths, that would possibly work.

He has recently just started taking enzymes, it's been about 4 weeks. He is

resistant to it at times but mostly is taking them. The other day I noticed

that his eczema was looking pretty clear, maybe the enzymes are helping.

I read the article from the files recently suggested on Phenol-Suphotransfe rase

Issues and eczema. The article was difficult for me to " get " . I'm wondering if

anyone who has worked through it and could summarize what the suggestions are.

Thanks a lot for any help/ideas.

My guys are showering these days. I plug the drain in the tub and at least

their feet are in the water. Often they change their mind and soak. Also, make

the water come out slow of the shower.

He has recently just started taking enzymes, it's been about 4 weeks. He is

resistant to it at times but mostly is taking them. The other day I noticed that

his eczema was looking pretty clear, maybe the enzymes are helping.

Thanks a lot for any help/ideas.

I dissolve some epsom salts in water and mix it with lotion. After my daughter

goes to sleep, I go in and rub it on her tummy, back and feet.

To be honest, the baths are the best, mag comes in a pill but if your

pathways are blocked that may not get you anywhere. Over time I think the

enzymes may make him more compliant and you may be able to get the baths in

the. Meanwhile the creams are the only options I know of. Soaking feet

while watching fave show will help to if he will do that. They sell the

cream but you said he doesn't like that either. Maybe if it was warmed a

bit? I am at a loss of ideas but I will keep thinking about it :)
