Guest guest
Hello all, My 2yr old ASD son has a chewing issue. It involves putting his blankie over a hard surface, then biting into it. His favorite chew toys are his crib, the coffee table, and his little wooden chair. All show the distinctive markings left by my son's teeth scratching against them. Our circular coffee table in particular is developing a very rustic, distressed border along its perimeter. Our ABA therapist would like to start discouraging this behavior. I'm talking with our OT regarding his sensory issues & hopefully we can workout a gameplan from a therapy point of view. But also hoping to see if there's something I can do nutritionally to facilitate this. Read a couple of De Felice's books. In one, there is suggestion of magnesium or zinc. I wanted to see if anyone has had success with either of these additions. Certainly, any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
