First, I would ask the DAN why he recommended them. >>Have any of you used these supplements > for your children with success? Thanks. > Vital Spectrum (A multivitamin and mineral complex by Klaire Labs) > Balance Body Essential Fatty Acids > E-lyte balanced Electrolytes > Cal-Mg Butyrate > Phosphatidylcholine powder > L-Carnosine > Pregnenolone > Magnesium glycinate chelate > Methyl B-12 injections For my son, carnosine was mildly helpful for receptive language, for maybe a month. He did well with magnesium and mB12, but I used oral mB12, not injections. And it required carnitine and folic acid for proper absorption. I used EFAs [fatty acids] for my son, but not the brand you listed. My son did not tolerate fats until I added mito cocktail. http://www.danasview.net/mar05.htm Dana
Guest guest
I don't know.. but this is a hairy sounding list if you ask me. Is this SOP or did he run a bunch of tests to verify this is what is needed? We have no DAN dr. locally so I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to just start treating biomedically w/o someone to help give direction and see my child and see if we're helping or hindering. From everyone at the local autism meeting was saying, and about their kid, is not reacting to his food like their kids did. my gut says it's not his gut too no pun intended.. but it sure was funny Nita (crew chief) and the crew: 15, Jon 13, 11, 9, 6, Christian (7/16/03 to 8/22/04), 2 and Isaac, 2/3/08 http://momof6.dotphoto.com <http://momof6.dotphoto.com/> for not necessarily current pictures http://nitasspot.blogspot.com Learn from the mistakes of others. Guest guest
Many, including myself, don’t have a DAN. Honestly, it’s a ton of money and I honestly think you can do as well reading and following internet boards. I wanted a DAN in the beginning and now I’m very comfortable never going there. Like many, I’d have to travel great distances to get one and pay what and I’m seeing good results all on my help with support of my internet buds! I ran into the entire enzyme info looking for a “cure” for my 5 ½ year old nt son with severe food allergies. I actually gave enzymes a try first on my PDD-NOS now 8 ½ year old son. He feels so much better on them, happier, getting the proper absorption. When we stopped last fall when school started, long store, he went down hill, far into things we hadn’t seen in years. Like…..covering his ears, chewing, which we never really saw. Then he started getting up at night a lot, we thought it was the new house. This guy was skin tested for the big 8, no reactions. I don’t think he has any intolerances or allergies but he sure is more willing to try more foods. Could be age too. JME. We are on all three Houston chewables, probiotics, BrainChild vit/min.
