Guest guest
Hey all. I need some help and in the past this group has always been there. Thank you so much for that. I am wanting to fine tune and tweak our current regime of supps and whatnot. We are still having hyperactivity and attention/focus problems that I would like to address. We occasionally still have yeast flares as well. Stool is still not as formed as we would like but part of that is because we are doing teh Vit K protocol which releases oxalates and contributes to the loose stools. We still can't add in many foods. We still have issues with salicylates. After doing the SCD intro back in June, now over 6 months later, we still can't tolerate many stage one or two foods. Our diet is extremely lacking, our main source of carbs coming from squash and carrots. There has to be something I'm missing, something I haven't addressed here that is holding my son from progressing and being able to tolerate more advanced foods. Here is what we are currently doing: Enzymes: Zyme Prime with all meals and snacks. AFP Pep with meals/snacks containing goat cheese. (These have been priceless for us and probably one of the most important things we are doing) Probiotics: SCDophulus (3 billion) l. acidophulus per day. Also homemade SCD yogurt made with progurt, 6 teaspoons a day. And s. boulardii once a day when we remember. Magnesium glycinate, 800 mg per day Zinc, 20 mg per day Vit K2, 1 mg every other day CLO: Green pastures with butter oil, 4 mls equal to 20,000 IU vit A per day and 2,000 vit D per day. Also contains a decent load of EPA and DHA. Melatonin: 3mg before bedtime SCD: strict, by the book since June 07, (were SCD before that starting the year prior but not doing the stages, just ate legal foods only). Currently we can barely tolerate stage one foods (pecanbread.com stages). So, if I may tap into the wisdom of the group, what helped with hyperactive and focus/attention problems for you? What helped with tolerating a wider range of foods? Looking at what we are doing, what would you suggest that we add? I am looking to add in more probiotics by increasing the yogurt, but I'm on the fence about trying a non-SCD probiotic like Bio-Kult or VSL#3. I would love to hear others experiences, good or bad, about those two probiotics in particular. Thank you so much for any help and suggestions you can offer.
