Hi! I'm new and this is my 2nd time trying to post... I don't think the last

one even went through so here we go again. I have a 5 year old DS with sensory

issues and I'm wondering if anyone has advice on enzymes that might help.

A bit about our family - we have two sets of twins. Both boy / girl the older

set is 5-1/2 year olds and the younger set is 18 month olds old. We moved this

past summer from NH to MI. Since just before the move our 5 year old son

started having behavior issues at home. At first we figured it was due to my

husband being in MI and not home with us. Once we moved we figured it would

take time to adjust etc... School seemed to be where he was having the most

trouble, in particular with one boy at school. While he has given us a hard

time at home it seems worse at school. He is anxious and seems to be hyper

vigilant to his surroundings (mostly this one boy). Needless to say here we are

months later and he is still having issues in the new school. He punched the

other boy today several times. He went to two years of public school preschool

in NH and didn't have these problems so at first I was at a loss. I found a

play therapist that tested him and said that he has some depression and anxiety

issues. Along with some issues focusing and some symptomatic ADHD. We have

always known he was sensitive to noise, light and textures of food. He has some

OT issues with fine motor skills so we have him doing OT too. I'm reading the

" Out of Sync Child " right now and it seems he has some vestibular dysfunction

from what I can tell. I'm just curious if there is more to it... is it a food

allergy, is there an enzyme that can help? My pedi wasn't much help he told me

to look online. I don't have a ton of time to read up on things... I already go

to bed at midnight and I'm up by 6am. So I'm hoping to tap into this

knowledgeable group and see if anyone has had any experience with children who

have sensory issues and taking enzymes? I need the best one to start on and any

tips for going about it. From what I read...behavior could get worse before it

gets better... UGH!

Long story I know, but I wanted to give you some background.

Thanks in advance for help,

I would look at the Feingold diet for starters. Cook whole foods, simple, no

process. Yes, harder said than done. Take out the artificial

colors/preservatives.

Anyway...enzymes is a great place to start. We saw improvement with sleeping

issues, behavior and he just felt better. But it does go deeper. Sensitive to

noise, light, honestly looking back, yeast! I know, to a new person, sounds

crazy! Stay on board, it will make more sense over time. Chewing issues, zinc

and mag. You'll learn supplements, probiotics, enzymes, and yes, a yeast

protocol and maybe diet needed for correction.

Another great group to follow is the autism treatment site.

Allergy testing for foods might be worth a try. Believe it or not, even a

parasite protocol. Try removing dairy and sub in like rice milk to see if

improvements. In the mean time until you get going, epson salt baths at night,

helps the healing/detox. Getting a good vit/min on board.

Get all the ot services you can. Lots of sun!
