Guest guest
a few months ago i decided to try trienza myself, took 2 capsels on an empty stomach and then did not eat for a bit, at which point I gorged on wheat after 3 mos off. I had horrible nausea. Talked to Houstons who reminded me they recommend starting slow...two capsels on an empty stomach wasnt' too smart. I have not tried again. they suggested I try 1/2 cap or at most 1 cap and not at noon after not eating all morning. i have not tried again. i have an IgE allergy to wheat...got a reaction even with the enzyme. but my son has taken houstons for 3+ years. love the product and company...will probably try it again for myself at somepoint. From: athomenetjobs <athomenetjobs@...> Subject: enzymes causing nausea / loose stools 2 hrs after taking Date: Monday, April 20, 2009, 12:48 PM I just started taking enzymes on a trial basis along with my family. I've noticed about 2 hours after taking the enzyme (I've tried 2 different brands) with a meal I have stomach pain, feels similar but not as bad as taking ibuprofen on an empty stomach. Today I had loose stools too which I rarely ever have. Am I taking too much at once? Is this a die off symptom? thanks for your help ------------------------------------
Guest guest
It also says on the houston website that it is not intended to allow people with IGE reactions to eat those foods again. I have never had allergy testing so I don't know if I have an IGE reaction to milk and soy. I tried the Houstons TriEnza after being off milk and soy for 3 years. At first it worked, but about 3 weeks in they were no longer effective. I have determined that the elimination healed my gut enough to allow the Trienza to work, but continued infractions damaged my gut. I could probably heal my gut again and only do occasional infractions and the Trienza would probably work. I haven't tested this yet. -Undiagnosed Asperger's Syndrome Stay at home mom to 3, Wife to -6-6-02-Autism Spectrum, the light of my life Katy-11-19-03-undiagnosed genetic syndrome that includes cleft palate-Pierre Robin Sequence, scoliosis, heart defects, short stature, low muscle tone, developmental delay, oral defensiveness, g tube fed part time-working on oral feeding, slightly dysmorphic features, and my joy J.D-no issues except he is totally in love with mommy, cutest baby in the world visit my blog http://busiestmommyinamerica.blogspot.com " If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart! Guest guest
Hi , Sometimes the protease can be too strong for certain individuals. You can try a digestive enzyme that doesn't have high amounts of Protease. Individuals will ulcers sometimes notice discomfort when they take a product with high Protease. Enzymedica's Gastro (formerly V-gest) or Enzymedica's DigestBasic might be good options for you. Proteases work are things that are dead, damaged or that don't belong. So if there is anything like that in the stomach, it will work on that. That may not necessarily be a bad thing, but sometimes the pain is too much. So starting with a lower dose might help. Feel free to ask me any questions. Alessandra Enzymedica's Education Department Enzymedica.com Autismnationwide.org > > I just started taking enzymes on a trial basis along with my family. Guest guest
I noticed if I take 1/2 capsule of Digest Gold (from the samples you sent) it doesn't bother me a bit, the only thing I noticed was sort of a passing flushed, hot feeling in my face but no stomach pain. I already placed an order for Digest & Candidase so will try those. My son is having some problems with constipation so have been trying to up the magnesium, fiber, probiotics. I'm a little concerned about starting him on the Candidase before he's regular. I had started him on the enzymes but it seemed to have made the constipation worse. Any suggestions? should I wait or give him the Candidase now? Thank you > > > > I just started taking enzymes on a trial basis along with my family. Guest guest
Hi , If taking 1/2 a capsule of DigestGold doesn't cause any discomfort, you might want to try that amount for a while and slowly increase. 1/2 of a capsule of DigestGold is still very potent compared to other digestive enzymes out there. We sometimes recommend Candidase to help with constipation. But of course every kid is different. Yeast itself can cause constipation. You might have to experiment with it for a while. Adding Virastop for " die-off " can also help. If he is constipated because of yeast overgrowth, the Candidase should help. Dana
