Guest guest
Hi Everyone- I stopped vaccinating my twin boys at 12 months old, because of what I saw happen to my oldest and fully vaccinated AS son. They are now 5 years old. They are NT, but they are a little bit ADHD, speech delayed, and have allergy and food sensitivity issues. They also have a connective tissue disorder. Anyway, they start Kindergarten this coming fall and I already signed a waiver to exempt them from being vaccinated. I would, however, like to consider getting them vaccinated for some things that would put them at risk for life long complications if they were to catch something. (Of course, Autism is a lifelong complication too.) My husband is scared to have them vaccinated (as am I) and wants to wait until next year when they are at least 6 yrs. old and have had more time to develop. I am a little worried about them going to school with *no* vaccinations. We have an appt. with a DAN doctor to discuss an alternative vaccine schedule. My dh is so nervous about it that he asked me why I even bothered to set an appt. I have so much fear from what happened with my first son, that I don't know if I can muster up the courage to vaccinate and I am easily swayed to do nothing until they are 6, like my dh suggests. Maybe he is right?! I would love to get as much input and opinions as I can, from all of you. I really value your opinions and would like to hear what path all you took regarding vaccines. Thank you, Leigh
Guest guest
I read in a resent article in Time magazine that because most school age children are vaccinated that the chances of unvaccinated kids getting sick are actually very very low. This is because no on around them has the virus so there is little risk of exposure. Hope this helps, I also read somewhere that spreading out the vaccinations reduces the amount of harmful chemicals contained in the vaccinations. You would want to research that some more though. Good luck http://speakup.today.com Autisticjessie
