Guest guest
I hope by now she is doing better, but I thought I would chime in. When my son is very emotional it is usally yeast. I give GSE with No-Fenol as he will not tolerate phenol without the enzyme. I never did GFCF, just went with the Houston trio. Never ended up with a DAN! becuase they all seemed to insist you go GFCF and I wanted to start with enzymes. You mentioned an alternative to Cheetos ... Cheetos are what first started us on our biomed journey. Several days within a couple weeks time, our 3 year old came home from preschool bouncing off the walls (much more than usual). Since he was so hesitant to try any new foods, the IEP team was writing in his back and forth book what was served for snack and if he had eaten it all. Every day he had been much worse than usual they had served Cheetos! they were nearing the end of hte school year and trying to use up all the extra supply. I slowly began to remove ALL artifical colors, flavors, preservatives and corn syrup. next supplimnets, then the Houston Trio. HIs progress was amazing. esp speech. in the back of my mind i wondered about the corn. months later his next preschool gave him popcorn without consulting us (as directed to do) and he nearly reverted to the way he had been. It took nearly a week for him to return to us. Now we also elimate corn. I consider Cheetos EVIL. LOL. One day at the Lake last summer with some new friends not so familiar with our son, I looked over and saw my son eating Doritos by the handful. Yikes! shortly the meltdowns began; i dosed up the enzymes but they are just not effective enough against the corn for my son...it was a very long remainder of hte day and a few days that followed. My now 5 year old still has severe sensory issues, but is no longer considered borderline ASD as he was when first served the Cheetos. He also used to only eat a few things, so it was hard to change over. I have never found a decent frozen chicken nugget without corn so i make them myself. He only get Hebrew National hot dogs, or if I can swing it one without added nitrates (he is not so keen on the uncured ones). I have often wondered if the reason kids do well on a diet like GFCF is often all hte artifical flavors, etc are removed as well by the nature of hte diet. just my opinion and experience...and what worked for my son. denice gbrn98 <gbrn98@...> wrote: i forgot to mention that i do give her HNI enzymes with big meals such as lunch and dinner. she has been on that for at least 5 months now (zyme prime, peptizyde and no fenol). i'll start giving her no fenol with her gse and folic acid in the mornings then. do you think yeast die off is the reason for her behavior? should i be increasing anything then?? she won't TRY anything new. > -- In , " gbrn98 " wrote: > > > > the past couple of days, my 3 yo daughter has been VERY EMOTIONAL. crying over the smallest of things. she is mostly non-verbal. > > any advice would help. she only eats chicken nuggets or hotdogs. does anyone have any food advice as well?? > > also, i ordered a case of tings (they are like cheetos but are gfcf) and she doesn't really like them. --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals?
