Way OT: Need book suggestions: adventure and fantasy for 6th grader

Hi,

 

Our daughter is in 6th grade this year and they're doing fantasy, adventure, and

folk tales in English class. She's prefers nonfiction, so we're already at a

disadvantage, but the bigger issues are that she gets upset when there's

" adventure " in the usual sense for kids her age and we're a conservative

Christian family so much of the " fantasy " stuff that's out there is not exactly

what we want her reading. I mentioned the latter of these facts to her language

arts teacher at open house last night and he said he'd work with me if I could

get him some suggestions (she attends public school).

 

Can anyone suggest appropriate titles in the Adventure and Fantasy areas for

this age with these specifications?
