I have a daughter of 3.5 years of age on the spectrum and I have been

experimenting with enzymes for the past few weeks. My daughter has protein

malabsorption problems so I have been trying a variety of protease enzymes,

including AFP Peptizyde and DPP-IV Forte and Enzyme Complete/DPP-IV with Isogest

from Kirkman's when I give her protein meals. The change in my daughter when I

gave her these enzymes was immediate and significant - happier, more focused and

cognitively much better.  The problem is that she is stimming up a storm -

grinding her teeth, twirling objects while running up and down and burping. Even

though I am giving her a small amount, I feel that the proteases are too harsh

for her. When I give her Zyme Prime, these side effects are not as bad.

My questions are;

1. Could you please recommend another 'general broad spectrum' enzyme which

would be suitable for very young children which I can give to my daughter with

non-protein meals? Is Kid's Digest  from Enzymedica suitable? Any other

recommendations?

2. Also, could you please recommend a protease enzyme which might be suitable

for my daughter and which maybe does not have so many side-effects.?

I consider enzymes to be one of the best interventions we have done and would

like help in making sure I am choosing the right ones for my child.

Thank you for your time.

Hi

This is my first time posting to this group and would really appreciate some

help.

I have a daughter of 3.5 years of age on the spectrum and I have been

experimenting with enzymes for the past few weeks. My daughter has severe gut

dysbiosis and protein malabsorption problems so I have been trying a variety of

protease enzymes, including AFP Peptizyde and DPP-IV Forte and Enzyme

Complete/DPP-IV with Isogest from Kirkman's when I give her protein meals. The

change in my daughter when I gave her these enzymes was immediate and

significant - happier, more focused and cognitively much better.  The problem is

that she is stimming up a storm - grinding her teeth, twirling objects while

running up and down and burping. Because she cannot swallow capsules, I sprinkle

the enzyme on her food but it is obviously irritating her and causing her to

gag.  Even though I am giving her a small amount, I feel that the proteases are

too harsh for her. When I give her Zyme Prime, these side effects are not as

bad.

recommendations?

2. Also, could you please recommend a protease enzyme which might be suitable

for my daughter and which maybe does not have so many side-effects.? I would

ideally want to sprinkle it on her food.

Thank you for your time.
