Guest guest
Bonnie, I think that without a doubt, Breaking out of Food Jail, is a must. I have both, and found that I really could have done without the Eating to Become Naturally Thin book, but never without Breaking out of Food Jail. sincerely, Tami

Guest guest
have been looking through my nature's sunshine product book - its about 2 years old - so am wondering if one of the products you mentioned is new. The first one (that you mentioned) is just called Food Enzymes and it says on it: " ...some processed foods lack the enzymes needed for proper digestion. This formulation supplements the body's production of these enzymes. For example, pepsin is used for the digestion of proteins in an acid environment (betaine hydrochloride or HCI); pancreatin is produced by the pancreas to digest proteins, carbohydrates, and fats in alkaline environments; mycozyme digests starches; papain and bromelain digest protein; bile salt makes fats soluable and prepares them for further digestion by lipase. One tablet will help you digest a minimum of 30 grams of protein, 30 grams of carbohydrates and 20 grams of fats. " The THIRD one you mentioned is called PDA - (says this on this one:) supplements the body's digestive secretions. Special cells in the stomach lining require Vit.B complex and other nutrients to manufacture hydrochloric acid to break down proteins during the digestive process. As people age, they usually produce less HCI, which affects the amount of protein they can absorb. An additional problem with incomplete protein digestion is subsequent imbalances in the flora that feast on these compounds. " So - out of the above two I would pick the first one. The 2nd one you listed with its ingredients - i can't find. I noticed however, that the first one i listed above does not have amylase or cellulase or any of these other ingred's (which are necessary too). I take 3 kinds of enzymes a day - and it seems in this case you would almost want to buy the first and the second one - use both. Amylase digests carbohydrates, breaking them down into smaller units which are later converted into monosaccharides (simple sugars) such as glucose and fructose. People who can't digest fats often eat large amounts of sugar and carbohydrates to make up for the lack of fat in their diet. If their diet is excessive in carbohydrates, they can develop an amylase deficiency. Amylase is important in preventing the proliferation of dead leukocytes, or white blood cells, which manifests as pus. Amylase deficiency includes: skin problems(hives, rashes), eczema, psoriasis, herpes, allergies to bee stings and insect bites, muscle soreness and pain, joint stiffness, thick blood. Lipase is the enzyme responsible for digesting fats. This includes fat in foods and the fat-based coatings of certain viruses - lipase can effectively destroy some viruses by digesting their outer coating. Certain viral infections may accompany a lipase deficiency, and are characterized by symptoms including fatigue, sore throat, and swollen glands. People who are diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome fall into this category. A prominent indicator of lipase deficiency is chronic fatigue syndrome or " hidden " viruses. A lipase-deficient person is also likely to have irritable bowel symptoms. Cellulase digests fiber. It also 'eats' pathogenic yeast, so candidiasis from a Candida overgrowth is often the result of inadequate 'friendly' bowel bacteria coupled with a cellulase deficiency. Sudden, acute allergies can also be an outcome of cellulose deficiency. Candidiasis sets the stage for leaky gut syndrome which in turn can lead to the development of food allergies, as undigested food particles make their way into the bloodstream and trigger an immune response. Once these food particles have passed from the digestive system to the circulatory system, the brain no longer interprets them as " food " . Instead they are considered foreign substances which must be eliminated from the body. Cellulase deficiency symptoms: Acute food allergies, Candidiasis, facial pain or paralysis, gas & bloating. Well.... hope this helps - if you could ONLY pick one I probably would go with the 2nd one. we signed up with nature's sunshine a few years ago just to be able to get things 40% cheaper for us and friends... then it is well worth it - if you are going to be buying regularly you should sign up too.... wendy From: Nick Grant <nwgrant@...> candidiasis <candidiasis > Date: Thursday, May 17, 2001 9:37 PM Subject: which one? Hi A question - nature's sunshine has 3 digestive enzyme products... The first one contains Betain, Bile Salt, Bromelin, Lipase, Mycozyme, Pancreatin, Papain, Pepsin. The 2nd contains Amylase, Cellulase, Glucoamylase, lipase, pectinase, protease The 3rd contains Betain 325mg, Pepsin 800.000 units - 20mg. - I think probably the first, but thought to check it out with you first. Guest guest
- I *firmly* believe that my recovery has a *great* deal to do with enzymes - once I was established on them - **everything** changed... (there are books written by people who were healed of all sorts of things by using enzymes alone!). here's an example: " Dr. Loomis developed a line of plant enzyme formulas after a personal experience with the healing abilities of enzymes. He had been searching for years for a solution to his chronic ear problems - hearing loss and continual ear infections which had plagued him since infancy when he had severe whooping cough. Medications had proved ineffective against the infection and he was unable to wear hearing aids because his ears were constantly draining. He finally treated himself with massive doses of protease enzymes and his 43 year old ear infection was cleared up within 36 hours. " wendy Re: which one? Hi , I know this info was directed to - but this has given me some 'clues' with treating my son who has problems with fats due to a genetic disorder he has. I really ought to look into this enzyme thing a little bit further! Thanks! T. which one?Hi A question - nature's sunshine has 3 digestive enzyme products... Guest guest
The second one is vegetarian I believe. Also, I have #1 and #3 of these digestive enyzmes. I can't take them as I get heartburn. Does this mean I do not need them? **************** A question - nature's sunshine has 3 digestive enzyme products... Guest guest
Kirkman's Maximum Spectrum is excellent. Tri-enza did not work for my son, but others have reported positives for their children. > > Kirkman Maximum spectrum enzymes or Houston Tri-Enza. Help me decide please based on your experience with each. thanks >
Guest guest
Don't really know what the main differences are...but when I spent a lot of hours reading online trying to decide which to give my son, I chose the Tri-Enza and it really really WORKS for our son. It is an amazing difference, no question about it. We did GFCF for 6 months and saw very very little improvement, but we stopped the diet and started the Tri-enza and he is MUCH more talkative, outgoing, his words are much clearer, etc. I would definitely recommend giving it a shot! It is sort of a pain to keep up with, but for us, worth it. He takes between 1-3 capsules with every meal and snack (we put it in orange juice/water mixture, he can't taste it at all. I sometimes put it in plain water too and he doesn't taste it. But he can see it in there, so I always give it to him in a lidded cup). Best of luck! > > Kirkman Maximum spectrum enzymes or Houston Tri-Enza.
