Hello. My son is 5 years old and has a SPD dx. We supplement with MB12

shots and fish oil, and he is GFCF. This spring we added enzymes and

experienced remarkable results-better motor planning, significant

improvement in speech production, improvement socially, and he was

better able to demonstrate his cognitive abilities. His teachers and

therapists asked what we were doing differently because he was showing

such great and rapid improvement. Unfortunately, we had to stop the

enzymes because we thought they may have caused the most extreme eczema

he had ever experienced and as a result he got impetigo. He was on

them for about 6 weeks, which my understanding is would have been long

enough to get through " die-off " if that what was happening. Months

later, we are trying the enzymes again to see if there really was a

cause and effect with both the behaviors and the eczema. For the past

fours days, I have just been sprinkling his morning juice with a very

small amount of the enzymes, probably one-tenth of the recommended does,

and we are only giving it once a day and not with every meal. His

eczema is slowly returning, but he is again doing really, really well.

It seems odd that he would do so well if he was allergic to the enzymes,

but who knows. My questions are could such a small amount cause an

allergic reaction? Could the eczema just be die-off? Could the enzymes

just be shuttling another allergen due to increased absorption (he still

eats soy, but never had a problem in the past)? Would it be better to

give the enzymes on an empty stomach? Any recommendations or thoughts

would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Yes. What kind are you using?

My son had a head to toe rash with Houston chewables. Something in the fruity

flavoring. Thankfully swallows capules.

There are plenty of options out there.
