We use Focalin XR, and have been doing so for several years, with WONDERFUL

results! It was our seventh medicine. The doctor thought it would be best for

our son because it was a purer form, and apparently the body doesn't have to go

through so much to break it down and use it.

WE put my 4 yr old daughter on Focalin XR 2 years ago--by the 4th day we

had to take her off-- she was up at 2:00am having a standing conversation

with someone in her room, for over 30 minutes---- and the following

afternoon was running around our back yard ducking and swatting at Birds

that were supposively dive bombing her to bite and rip her hair out. She

was 4, and we immediately took her off it....

I have used it myself - originally intended for my 12 yo. so (had heart issues

so we were afraid to give it to him). It's quite expensive ($100+/30 days) so I

tried it myself for my ADHD. It kind of reminded me of the old diet pills I've

taken in the past. I felt a little buzz/nervousness - nothing severe.

Decreased appetite (good thing) and seemed to help me " zero in " a bit but

nothing dramatic (might not have been right dosage for me). I have heard of

good results from others though.
