Guest guest
Hi Liz, Most of the vitamin C we buy comes from the acerola berry (or acerola cherry). What a particular company uses for filler in their tablets is up to them, but the filler isn't the source of the vitamin C. If you have NOW Foods products available in your area, you might want to give them a try. Their vitamin C according to them is " Free of: sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg or preservatives " . Vitamin C is ascorbic acid, and mixing it 50/50 with baking soda buffers it so it is less acid. That makes it easier on the teeth and the stomach. > > Another question Do you think L- glutamine can help improve my immune system? ==>Yes it does, but do not take supplements; your own body makes glutamine amino acids from proteins, meats and eggs. Guest guest
Ironically the worst reaction to food I had was to cherry. But I ordered V. C from cassava root. Hope I can take it. Thank you, Liz --- Zack Widup <w9sz@...> wrote: > Hi Liz, > > Most of the vitamin C we buy comes from the acerola > berry (or acerola > cherry). I'm taking the ascorbic acid and the vitamin C Plus recommended capsule. ==>The difference between ascorbic acid and sodium ascorbate is that sodium ascorbate is made by mixing ascorbic acid crystals with baking soda which buffers (cuts back on the acidity) the vitamin C making it easier on the teeth and stomach. Some products include calcium and other buffers but they aren't recommended because taking large doses will contain too much calcium, making it difficult to regulate calcium intake. > My husband hates taking the ascorbic acid cause of the taste, if he > takes just the C Plus capsule, will that still be effective? ===>Yes that is okay. > Also, I have a 7 month old baby boy who is on a homeade raw milk formula (Sally Fallon's recipe,) which contains acerola powder. Is this enough for him or does he also need ascorbic acid or sodium ascorbate, and if so, how much? ==>Acerola powder will contain enough vitamin C for him. Guest guest
Here's another question about vitamin C. I am taking a product called The Right C made by Natures Way. It claims superior absorption due to a " multipath entercell " delivery system with proprietery Riboperine glyco-nutrient metabolites. I have had vitamin C IV's in the past and I do feel that kind of effect when I take this form of C. Has anyone else tried it or have any comments about its claims? Thanks,
Guest guest
, Riboperine is the following... a patented proprietary blend of naturally occurring glucose metabolites including fractions of ribose (from Sugar Beet) complexed with glycine and bioavailable organic thiol (BOT). so you are consuming glucose when you take this. in the UK
Guest guest
I have been slowly increasing my vitamin c and I am noticing a strange rash all over the tops of my thighs. It is a burning and stinging rash (no itching), and it doesn't spread anywhere else. It is bright red in color and very slightly raised. Could this be a viral rash or a yeast rash. I feel better when taking the vitamin c, and I don't feel extremely " yeasty " , so I thought maybe it had stirred up a virus and the virus is now being eliminated. A few years ago I began a regiment of vitamin c and another anti-viral and I had the fifths disease rash all over for a month. That rash didn't give me a burning feeling though. Any help in getting rid of the rashes quickly, or is this something I am going to have to wait out? Thanks so much, paula

Can be either, or can be lack of carnitine. Dana
