Guest guest
More than likely he is " hearing the ocean " in his ears. He's playing with the 'sound' and air vibrations. It's fun. Do it with him and hum, or open and close your mouth with your hands over your ears. Do it after running in place for a minute. Not knowing anything about your son, I have no idea if this type of play is new or different for him, but all of my children did this at one time or anther, NT and not. Miriam From: m_jhouston333@... Date: Tue, 16 Jun 2009 02:40:48 +0000 Subject: covering ears all of a sudden Hi All, My son has started putting his hands over his ears recently and quite often. I don't remember him ever doing this in the past. We started HBOT recently and have been doing enhansa. We have not started much else recently that coincides with this. When he does this it does not seem to have anything to do with noise sensitivity because he does it at random times throughout the day regardless of the sound environment. He puts his hands on his ears and sometimes claps his hands on his ears gently. Does anyone know what might be causing this behavior? It came on so suddenly we don't know what to make of it. Guest guest
hello : A sensitivity to noise is caused by a Deficieny of Riboflavin Vit. B2; found in dairy products almonds and nutritonal yeasts only;a. does your son have asensitivity to light; this is also a Rivoflavin lack; key words; Riboflavin vitamin B2; vitamin b-complex; anne usa > > Hi All, > > My son has started putting his hands over his ears recently and quite often. Guest guest
> My son has started putting his hands over his ears recently and quite often. Increase the yeast protocol. This was usually a sign of yeast overgrowth for my son. >>We started HBOT recently and have been doing enhansa. Both of these can increase yeast. Guest guest
Ok, thanks everyone for the help. Yeast makes sense because he has started opening/closing doors like crazy again and has not really done this in a long time. This was always a sign of yeast in the past. Both of these can increase yeast.** I cannot cut and paste the original anymore, but somewhere it stated that his covering his ears doesn't seem to be about sound sensitivity. If this is true, then what is driving the desire to cover his ears? I suppose I am asking what about increased yeast would produce this behavior in the absence of sound sensitivity issues. We're still dealing with both sound sensitivity and yeast, but I'm still missing something. There certainly is not a one to one correlation for us. Guest guest
Maybe it is a pressure or pain sensation for my son in his ears. He has also been scratching and flapping his ears which could indicate they itch or are uncomfortable somehow. For my son it definitely does not seem to be a sound senstivity issue but more of a discomfort issue. Itchy ears at my house also meant yeast overgrowth. Try increasing the yeast protocol and see how much of the problem remains. Then you can try other things to address whatever remains.
