Guest guest
Hi Listmates, I have been giving my son diflucan to kill yeast as per my DAN's suggestion. Is it safe to give activated charcoal everyday whilst he is on the Diflucan? Right now I am giving him 1 cap of activated charcoal everyday. The charcoal is given at least 2 hours away from any supplements, medication and food. This is his daily schedule: after breakfast 8.30 am - 50mg Diflucan and supplements Just before lunch - 2 scoop custom pro-biotics 12pm - lunch after lunch (12.30pm) - supplements 3pm - activated charcoal 1 cap 6.15pm - dinner before bed (9.30pm) - 2 scoop custom probiotic + zinc Many thanks for any inputs/ suggestions. Regards,
Guest guest
yep fine to give as long as you give it away from meds as you say you are, 2 hours or more is ideal. Might want to give some psyllium along with the charcoal to avoid constipation along with extra water. How are you administering the charcoal? How much does the recipient of the charcoal weigh? Make sure you are using medicinal grade charcoal, one with a minimum of 1000m2/gram (thats the definition of medicinal grade, my sister works in emergency in the hospital) I found one with 1450m2/gram adsorptive area here http://stores.ebay.com/newdayhealthproducts > > Hi Listmates, > > I have been giving my son diflucan to kill yeast as per my DAN's suggestion. Is it safe to give activated charcoal everyday whilst he is on the Diflucan? As long as you are giving it 45 minutes after the Diflucan and 2 hours apart from foods, supps, and other medications, it should be fine. > after breakfast 8.30 am - 50mg Diflucan and supplements > 3pm - activated charcoal 1 cap The charcoal is mostly pointless if you are giving it this far away from the Diflucan. Guest guest
> Dana, > without diflucan, can ASD child still get the benefit from charcoal? Yes, you can use it with GSE or any other anti-fungal. >>When should be the best time to give, am, noon, pm as long as 2 hrs apart from food, supplements? 45 minutes after your anti-fungal, 2 hours apart from everything else. If your child does not have severe die off symptoms, you can skip the charcoal entirely. Dana
Guest guest
> > GSE, are you talking about grape fruit seed extract or grape seed extract? A bottle of grapefruit seed extract will have a big " GSE " on the front in red letters. It stands for grapefruit seed extract. Dana
