Guest guest
Hi Listmates, I have started my son on Diflucan (50mg once per day) due to constant silly laughs and nite wakings. A couple of questions to make sure that I am doing this right: 1. I usually give the Diflucan after breakfast with his vit C, Vit B and fish and cod liver oils. 2 hours after that, I would give 1 capsule of activated charcoal to hopefully suck up any toxins and die-offs, as well as daily epsom salt baths to help detox. Unfortunately, due to school schedule, the charcoal is given immediately before lunch. Would that be a problem? Would the charcoal suck up all the mutrients from his lunch? 2. Probiotics (2.5 scoops of custom pro-biotics) are given in the afternoon on an empty stomach, and also about 1.5 to 2 hours after dinner (but about 10-20 min before his bed time milk). Is this the right way to do it? Is this enough or do I need to give more pro-biotics? 3. I have scheduled my son for a liver function test after being on diflucan for 2 weeks. Is that how most of you are doing it too? 4. On Day 3 of the Diflucan, I noticed the red ring on my son's anus has completely disappeared. I have never seen his anus not red (it was just always different shades of red) - does that mean my son definitely has a yeast problem? 5. My son's behaiour has not changed much since being put on the Diflucan. Does that mean there is no die-off? How can I tell if he is having die-off and whether we need to up the dosage of the Diflucan. 6. Should I keep him on some natural antifungal once we are finished with the Diflucan for maintenance? Any suggestions? I am not too keen on GSE because my son has high oxalate. I have tried Sac B. before but unsure whether it was effective. Sorry for the long email but I am a bit clueless as mu first time doing antifungals. Many thanks for your help and any inputs.
Guest guest
Hi I just wanted to ask you if you are sure that your son is not reacting to the Custom Probiotics. This probiotic came highly recommended from my DAN nutritionist but was a disaster for my daughter, affecting her sleep and causing stimming and hyperactivity which she usually does not have. Once I stopped this pro-biotic, these behaviours stopped. Furthermore, many parents posted about the negative reactions their kids had to Custom probiotic on a major autism site - I am not sure if I am allowed to mention this here - if you want, you can e-mail me privately and I can send you the link. But they were basically saying the same thing, that this probiotic had negative side effects for their kids. Guest guest
Hi , I hope I can answer a few of your questions. My son has been on Diflucan off and on for almost a year now. We have had his liver test done twice, with no problems. With us, it was always tolerated better with food. We only had really bad die off the first time. But we didn't have charcoal, so that was my fault. I give my probiotics at least 4 hours after the dose. I know that charcoal sucks up all toxins and nutrients with no differentiation in what they are. You may only need to give charcoal for the 3 day die off at the beginning. I have never heard of die off after three days. We stopped Diflucan for 3 months and switched to GSE only when needed, Then we tried OofOregano with good success. He was on Nystatin for 2 years at the beginning of his biomed. So I think whatever works for you is what works! Not judging, I just have to ask about the milk at night? When my son was still drinking cow's milk, it made him stay up at night laughing like a drunk sailor. That's just our family though - we all are sensitive to dairy. Hope this helps, Susi > > Hi Listmates, > > I have started my son on Diflucan (50mg once per day) due to constant silly laughs and nite wakings. Guest guest
, a natural anti-fungal would be Amphotericin B which you can get at a Health Food Store (needs refridgeration), also Caprylic Acid made from Coconut Oil and Coconut Oil itself with meals works very well for some.
