At my house, most obsessive behaviors were eliminated with mB12, anti-fungals, and anti-virals. >>He is > putting his fingers on the top of my shirt collar right at my neck. I would start with increasing [or decreasing] carnitine, and increasing yeast protocol. My son used to do this, and I don't remember which one of those things eliminated the problem [altho I suspect it was the carnitine]. Guest guest
Dana: Just a follow up to your answer regarding my son's obsession with putting his hand on our front collar of our shirt; you suggested to increase or decrease carnitine and or try increasing the yeast protocol. THANK YOU! After six weeks - an increased yeast protocol AND addressing a constipation issue which we did not know was going on. I suppose the constipation was caused by the yeast. We had to resort of miralax to bust it up. We are very disappointed that we could not get him regular after weeks of trying many other natural ways. Sooooo..what do I do now.? His diet is still GF/CF - has not changed in YEARS. He drinks plenty of water. We give him 800mgs of magnesium and now prune juice every day. Pretty sure the constipation thing is not going away easy - which I guess means his yeast has become more resistant?? THANKS for ALL THAT YOU DO!! Yeast can be highly constipating. >>Pretty sure the constipation thing is not going away > easy - which I guess means his yeast has become more resistant?? If increasing the yeast protocol helped, then you need to continue with a high yeast protocol. Biotin and GSE worked best at my house. Sometimes it took really high doses of both to keep the yeast under control. Rice is constipating. So are certain supplements. 800mg magnesium would not have been sufficient for my son for certain supplements. What does your child usually eat? What supplements do you give? If increasing the yeast protocol was helpful, what did you give and how much? Guest guest
> > You don't specifically say what helped. Did anything help with that behavior? So sorry Dana - we increased GSE drops to 20 each morning, 20 each afternoon, 15mg Biotin with 400mg Mag 1X/day, Uva Ursi 900mg/day, each morning, OoO - 30 drops each afternoon, Diflucan each evening. > What does your child usually eat? What supplements do you give? If increasing the yeast protocol was helpful, what did you give and how much? He is GF/CF - his diet consists of three eggs each morning, chicken breast OR organic beef for lunch, and chicken, turkey or beef for dinner. He also eats green beans from the garden, drinks Tropicana Pure OJ (8 ounces per day mix with organic carrot juice and pure Cranberry juice). He also drinks plain Perrier and prune juice now. For school mostly - we send GF/CF pretzels, Panda's Puffs, GF/CF cookies. They use them as reinforcers. He also eats the tiny boxes of organic raisins,- maybe 1 or 2 a day. He is on digestive enzymes, zinc (15mg),kelp (225mg), selenium, Vit C (500mg), Homocysteine complex (b's), melatonin 6 mg, dye free benedryl if needed, Aloe Vera juice was recently added to help with constipation. YOUR suggestions are always helpful and effective. It looks like I should really up the biotin for the yeast and I am switching to caprylic acid from the Uva Ursi. Maybe more OoO too for the yeast? Still confused how this all snowballed so quickly when we changed nothing in his consumption protocol. THANK YOU Dana - checking out your constipation page now.....(all advice from you is greatly appreciated). > Other constipation ideas > > http://www.danasview.net/constip.htm > > Dana >

Do any of those things cause problems? For example, my son would have had MAJOR problems with the orange juice and carrot juice, because his body did not convert carotenes until I corrected that problem. > He is on digestive enzymes, zinc (15mg),kelp (225mg), selenium, Vit C (500mg), Homocysteine complex (b's), melatonin 6 mg, dye free benedryl if needed, Aloe Vera juice was recently added to help with constipation. Yeast can be constipating, so can selenium if not given with sufficient magnesium. > YOUR suggestions are always helpful and effective. It looks like I should really up the biotin for the yeast and I am switching to caprylic acid from the Uva Ursi. Maybe more OoO too for the yeast? Try giving that biotin dose 3x per day. Biotin will pull magnesium for proper absorption [similar to selenium], so if the constipation persists, try increasing magnesium.
